Top notch service. Went into Barluga and from the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and courteous. The surrounding area was comfortable and the outdoor heaters very efficient. The staff made sure we were attended to promptly which made the whole experience absolutely spot on, looking forward to going back shortly!

Had not been to Barluga in awhile but did a late lunch with friends up from London. Lunch menu two courses for £15. Could not fault the food in anyway. Thank you for a great afternoon. Hope. Sophie and Kirstie

Hugely disappointed with the service at Barluga today. Had to move from our seat twice because of the sun. In the sun terrace only half of parosol open in case a customer wants to sit in the sun, and because it takes so long to open. During the meal when the sun again starts to beat on us the manager expecting us to move again! Why not just open the parosol to keep us all safe from the sun! It is a the hottest day of the year! Very disappointed with the service! If you want to burn your skin to a crisp like your food this is your place!

Great Sunday lunch. The pork was two large slabs with crackling. Loads of vegetables and a dude order of cauliflower cheese. The beef was good too. My only quibble a bit more gravy to pour over the Yorkshire's. Thank you Annabelle and Carly. Couldn't manage dessert was stuffed. Ed Rollo ,

Having previously written a review applauding the staff for excellent service but lambasting the owners for removing my beloved Strongbow I must now applaud the owners for reinstating "the Bow". This pub / restaurant remains at the very top of the Newcastle bar scene. Superb staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Ever efficient door staff and owners who clearly listen to their customers. Bravo Lads!

Had heard good things about this place so tried it for the first time. The decor is very nice, to my tastes, and suitable for a good quality experience. We were only in for lunch, two couples, and after looking at the menu general consensus was tapas style lunch so we had a selection of starters. The mixed platter, potted beef and a baked Camembert pout the bread and olives. All the food was a very high standard and had lots of flavour. With two rounds of drinks and the selection of sweets and a cheese board the bill was just under £110. As in the title a bit expensive for lunch but overall worth the expense

I like that they have a separate area for this dining to this who just want to go for drinks. It’s a nice small area which is very peaceful.

The food is delicious. The Chicken Supreme was lovely. Nice fresh chicken and a rich jus.

The cocktails are great and brilliant value.

Lively bar on Grey Street which is always busy. That tells you it's a good spot. The food is good too with a good selection. The service is prompt and food cooked fresh. It is advisable to book if you want food. It has a new terrace upstairs which allows for al fresco dining.

This is one of the loveliest places in the city on a sunny day. The terrace is well planned. We enjoyed a tasty platter of food including belly pork and Indian cauliflower with some crispy tempura prawns. The wine was great and the service excellent.
