07.06.2021 review: I have been to this place dozen od times, as spot white is known for It's late opening times I called in half an hour prior arrival to find out if me and my work collages (3 of us) are fine to come in without any booking which I was assured that it is all perfect and was told "see You soon" by a female member of Staff answering the phone call. I was refused to come in at 2 a.m because I need a membership card which I was not informed about over the phone and that all time to spend on the way was wasted, I called in again to find out what is going on and about guard Man refusing to let us in then a male member of Staff that answered told me that we can not get in. I don't know what is going on with this place but please make sure that this wide range of assurances stop, If me or any other customer is calling please give us accurate information about "memberships only" which I have never personalny Heard about for the last 3 years, normally it was just taking a bank card behind the bar for deposit. I get the point also that the lastest weeks been busy I get some places try to reduce customers in so the Staff can go home early. I totally understand it but then please change Your opening hours do everyone can be happy. This "visit" left me with not more than strong 1 out of 10 when usually is a great place to have fun in. Shame

Great food, awesome staff, sweet atmosphere.
Can't recommend the curly chips enough. Also, the food delivery is the same 10/10 standard as when u ate in. I miss you SW.

My son and I have been going to spot white for about 6 years not just on match days but whenever we need a great day out.
Staff are great with the kids and it's a place you feel safe taking kids not just on a match day but anytime, tables are top notch toilets are clean.
The food is for everyone and my son loves the milkshakes.

So we always pop into this place when ever we are in Newcastle as it’s always chilled and Kids love to play pool. This time we got there just after it had opened and found ourselves in the quiet corner. Got a bit hungry so ordered a platter for 4 of us and was so nice. Didn’t have to wait that long and everything was nice. Got a drink as well. Staff are always nice and always happy to help. Best place to go for a nice chill out and always have latest sports on while your there. Good music and generally a good place to go and relax.

Booked for a birthday party. Staff have been fantastic whilst booking and on the night. Was all a really pleasant experience. Package deals were great value and the gold room was incredible. Will definitely be booking again! Thank you to the friendly staff!

Good pool table, friendly staff and a good atmosphere.
Looks a little dodgy from the outside but looks can be deceiving.
Reasonable price for a hour of pool with good music in the background.

We visited for my brother stag doo. A selection of all ages and backgrounds. The place catered for everyone and the staff were really welcoming and looked after everyone. The venue is really nice and well looked after. The beer is good and a sensible price. We had a buffet hthst was just right to accommodate everyone. The price Was great for all involved. Would recommend

Regular at this place and it always has a welcoming atmosphere. The pool tables are in good condition and you can always get a table.

Initially I discovered Spot White when I attended the Chinese New Years Celebrations about two years ago. I was dubious at first heading up the flights of stairs to the place and remember feeling apprehensive when I stood at the entrance with this wooden door in front of me.
Not knowing what to expect, I reached out and opened the door only to be greeted by a very surprising interior that definitely appealed to me. But better than the interiors were the people who owned the place and worked there.
Adam was the first person who explained the rules of the club to me and what member benefits a person could expect by signing up as a member. Even though it's a member's only club, non-members can play at the club for a small entry fee.
Determined to join the club after his smile won me over, it wasn't long before I regularly started visiting Spot White a couple of times a month.
I even had the privilege of seeing Cliff Thorburn play/perform there and took some great pictures of the event.
Overall inside it has this very relaxed vibe. There are some massive American Pool tables which I had to get used to, but once I did I never went back to the smaller tables unless I am playing with friends. They do have standard English Pool tables and then a few Snooker tables. Just past the snooker tables on the left of the place is the exclusive VIP room.
So far when I have participated in other events or made friends, on each occasion I would take them to Spot White as its a great place to allow you to talk, have fun and play some great music on their juke box. Even one or two first dates I went on, I ended up taking them there.
Plus....plus... almost forgot mentioning the most important part... their amazing milkshakes (besides beverages like tea/coffee and drinks or even food) is to die for! Try this... a coconut chocolate bar milkshake. Yes... you can get any chocolate they have on display there mixed up in your milkshake and they spoil you with amazing cream and sprinkles on top. Best ever!
In the food department you can expect normal things like hot fries/chips (depending on whether you are American, or South African like me who refers to fries as chips :P And burgers, onion rings, side salad, tub of noodles and some other things I can't even remember. I shared a decent plate of chips with burgers once with a friend and absolutely loved it. It was well done and its fresh so a small wait but definitely worth it.
Since Spot White is in China Town you have mixed patronage... from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Caucasian, Eastern, European, American, African etc. So all in all...an awesome club with great people.
If you have time, come have a drink and play some pool and as much as I want to say I am getting paid for this awesome review... believe it or not- I am just a massive fan. You can find Spot White on Facebook as well and I recommend keeping an eye on their page as sometimes they have great in season and out of season offers like play for one hour and get one hour free the next day etc. These offers are subject to change depending on management decision- which is why its great being linked on FB to them.
At times there are tournaments as well and just yesterday I saw a 24 hour snooker tournament being advertised. So great place all around.

Usually come here after work as I work in a bar the food is amazing the staff are super friendly especially Taylor and Bradley and the Australian girl. Also had a massage and it was well worth the money a drink was very professional.

Hey, prices depend on time, but never more than £8/hr for pool and snooker, you can just walk in however you'd need to sign in as a guest. Under 18's are allowed in before 8pm as long as they are accompanied by an over 18. Always best to call and book to avoid disappointment on 01912619253. Hope this answers your questions :) x

I usually call up and book a table to avoid disappointment of not getting a table. Im not a member and ive never had a problem. If there is any big events at the stadium or around the town id book.

What is the choice of drinks like? Is it just the mainstream (Fosters, John Smiths, Carling, Guinness etc) or do they have anything decent?

Hey Neil, on draught we do have Fosters, John Smiths and Strongbow (!) but we also have Dortmunder, a German Union Pilsner. In addition, we have over 400 different spirits, 30 brands of bottled beer and also a selection of ales and IPA's, including our very own Spot White beer. Hope this answers your question! :-)

It is a members only club however guests are welcome before 11PM however there is a nominal guest charge of £1 before 6pm and £2 thereafter. If you mention to the bar staff when you come in that it's your first visit they may even knock off the entry charges so you can try the place ;)
