Guided City Walking Tour of Newcastle

The tour offers more sights than some other tours of the beautiful city of Newcastle. On it you will hear about the history of the city from the Iron Age to present day, and also about some of the city's more interesting characters.

The tour is less than 4km, does include some steps, and some uneven pavement.

Please come prepared according to the weather forecast for that day.

In the event of bad weather, please contact me through the message option here on TripAdvisor to see if the tour is still going ahead. Weather cancellations will be very rare.

Visited in August 2020 and we have pre-booked a table and advised we would have the table for an hour. When we arrived we were told there was an hour wait on pizzas... pizzas are basically the only thing on the menu! We were told this was due to them being busy but with the current covid situation they had even less people than normal and those eating food were required to book ahead - so that made zero sense! We also witnessed multiple people chasing their food orders at the bar. We decided to wait it out and the pizzas were okay... nothing special but fine! Would not have paid usual price for them though. We got a side of olives which took an hour to arrive too and had no extras like herbs, garlic etc and they tasted and looked exactly like the 70p jarred olives from Tesco but cost £5!! Absolutely the biggest rip off. The staff were lovely bar one gentleman who was very unapproachable. The drinks were of course great but unlikely to visit for food ever again. Pizza Punks is very close and MUCH better!

Came with the wife for my birthday (should have been in Vegas but I suppose rainy Newcastle is practically the same thing!). Tried a selection of beers and had a pizza each (which was actually really good!) Staff friendly and COVID19 aware. Would definitely return for food again - not just beers!

We received a frosty welcome from cold and supercilious staff followed by a recommendation to have the tesco beer. Got scolded like children and threatened with ejection for standing up. Atmosphere was naturally non-existent so we left. Not a good vibe....

Hi Bethana, Really sorry you had a bad experience, I can only apologise. Although everyone is required to be on a different standard of late in terms of control of the environment, I couldn't condone staff acting high and mighty in any way. Will speak to the staff on the matter and if you have any more feedback you'd like to give feel free to email us at newcastlebar@brewdog.com Many Thanks Joe

First time to a bar since Covid and I was impressed with the measures put in place. Hand gel at the entrance and staff wearing masks. Walked in without a booking and were given a table for an hour, however the staff allows us to extend it for another hour. Range of different ales to taste and the 4 of us all had a very good time.

We called into BrewDog and were able to get a table for drinks. The staff are just brilliant, friendly, professional and all very Covid-19 aware. We enjoyed a couple of great craft beers and the atmosphere was great too. Can’t wait to go back!
