Professional, well-run, safe! Went last night and had a great experience. My wife had some concerns about COVID-19 measures or lack of. She needn’t have worried. Richard and his team run a tight ship and the comedians were good too!

Visit the clubs in Glasgow & Edinburgh regularly but this is by far the best. Social distancing meaning you can actually breath and not cramped. Bar staff very efficient and 3 great comedians... #SupportLiveComedy

Really lucky to see one of their new courtyard socially distanced shows. Loved it. 3 acts plus compere for an hour. Especially loved Scott Bennett who I've seen before in Edinburgh. Very well managed social distancing. A few unplanned laughs (lockdown weight for compere and smashed decking). A tad more expensive than normal but with a capacity of less than 40 and lots of PPE provided they are not taking the mick. Support The Stand. We are so lucky to have it. …

I will never ever go to this comedy club again. The staff are toxic and were eagerly searching out people to tell off over very minor issues. It was about as much fun as a stay at Auschwitz concentration camp and ran with a similar mentality. I see the commandant likes to respond to the bad reviews with even more nastiness. Absolutely diabolical, avoid at all costs!…

Hi Laura, Thanks for taking the time to share your views with us. It’s a shame that you haven’t specified what the issues were that the staff had to talk to the audience about. From the experience we have through running 3 clubs, 7 nights a week we can openly say that we do at times have to tell the audience to behave. We have to ask people not to talk and disrupt a show for others. Is this what happened. Is this why we are toxic nazi’s. The only ‘nastiness’ I can see here is your review which is unpleasant in tone as well as factually barren. Therefore we would be delighted if you did stay away in future. Kind regards, The Commandant

It says on the website to arrive at 7pm, which we did to be greeted by massive queues, then we got herded in and you are literally packed in like sardines. If you need to get up and get a drink or use the toilet forget it!! The acts were ok but the way you are crammed in made it an uncomfortable evening. And the acts didn’t start until 845pm! Wouldn’t go again and definitely wouldn’t recommend the food!!…

Hi Amber, Sorry to hear this. We did have an exceptionally busy weekend (probably down to Valentines) and things were more hectic than normal. We hope you will reconsider and come back again another time.
