If you like being stuck to the floor...

... Then maybe you will also like the cheap vodka and unclean toilets. The drinks are cheap and the bar is falling to bits! I wouldn't recommend it

Great bar with cheap drinks and brilliant music, one of the few places in Newcastle where you can dance around to The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Pulp, The Libertines, Led Zeppelin etc. Often filled with students pre-drinking but there's always a mix of ages. It's open til 1am every day - it can get very crowded on a Saturday. I... More

If you like a good varied indie music club then this is a must visit. Very smelly inside and you stick to the carpets. Vodka thats tastes like turps. Beer flat as. But you expect that from the type of bar it is. Great music though.

This place has the Best Music in town...of all Era's. Frequented mainly by students as the drinks are cheap but worth a visit. It's Battered and Bruised inside, smells a bit Funky, you stick to the floors and the toilets later in the evening are a scene of Carnage. Love this place, Good Music, Good Drinking and a Good Vibe.... More

Me and a few friends came in here for a drink while waiting for a train home. It was my partner's turn to pay. He asked if he could pay by card (as he never carries any money) but the person behind the bar said no cash only (lucky I had some). After searching for 5 minutes, I eventually found... More

This place is the heart and soul of Newcastle and blows the so called 'Diamond Strip' out of the water. Great alternative music at night and jukebox during day. Starting to look a bit ropey with sticky floors but the music and clientele make up for it. 2 different strangers saw I was a bit worse for wear and fetched... More

Gotham would not be Gotham if they changed it, you either love it or hate it! bit smelly and looks a dive but that's what makes it what it is, the music is good and the drinks are cheap, so if you can handle the smell then you can't knock it really!

I recently went to Newcastle for a night out with friends and what a night out it was, absolutely top drawer with a massive hangover being the reward in the morning. Anyway we were looking for a decent bar that played some decent indie music and Gotham Town was recommended. So we got there and the music is fairly good,... More

Visited this place for the first time at the weekend and what began as a fun night in a dingy Newcastle bar became completely sour when me and my friends witnessed the night's DJ shout racially abusive comments to a girl working as a photographer. Utterly disgusted by this experience.

As I triumphantly strode past the guardians of the sacred doors I was ready to embark on my crusade. Greeted by the bartender I asked for a pint of Hogarden and was handed what I could only imagine was paint stripper and rocket fuel, it was then i9t dawned on me that this would be the last full recollection of...
