North East Holiday Resort
Nov 2021 • Solo
Whitley Bay is a holiday destination in the North East.

There are plenty of little hotels in the town centre and near the seafront.

The beach is lovely and well worth checking out on your visit. It's sandy and has plenty of ramps and stairs to get onto the promenade.

There are buses and the Metro to get there from Newcastle.

Nice afternoon out
Oct 2021 • Friends
My twin brother Stephen and I were staying in Newcastle Upon Tyne and decided to jump the metro down to Whitley Bay and what a great time we had.
It's a nice seaside resort, there's a quite pretty beach and plenty to keep you occupied, we visited some great pubs and bars in the town which were great places to visit, weather was good, crowds were out and the atmosphere was vibrant, we stayed here about four hours or so before heading back to Newcastle Upon Tyne, most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to this beautiful part of England.

Excellent Holiday Experience

Just back home after a weeks holiday at Parkdean resorts Whitley Bay and what an amazing holiday. I have been holidaying @ Parkdean Resorts for many years but this was my first visit to this park. I found our accommodation extremely clean ... the staff both helpful and friendly and the Manager Andy extremely approachable and friendly, and always helping his staff when ever he could. I would definitely recommend this site and will certainly be going myself for a 2nd visit 🙂

Lovely beach

We stayed in Hexham, Whitley Bay was only one hours drive.
Very impressed, plenty of car parking only £3 for all day. Public toilets free and clean.
Beach was fantastic especially for young kids, plenty of room to enjoy the sand and shallow sea.
Shops and restaurants near by would recommend.

First Visit
Aug 2021
Made our first visit ever to Whitley Bay - not sure what to expect after previously heard if was a stag party haunt many years ago. It was a sunny but breezy day (typical British summer day) which enabled us to enjoy a stroll along the promenade which they look to have been making improvements to of late. Easy walking and beach looked to be very clean.
Returning to the station the town centre did not appear to be a very thriving area.

Practically Perfect Whitley Bay
Aug 2021 • Family
Beautiful clean beach sandy wet and dry with a fantastic pebble area for collecting magical smooth glass used in many local crafts.
Delicious ice-cream, hot chocolates beautiful fish n chips.
Clean paving ideal for skates and cycling.
Views are amazing.
Seals are a treat if you keep your eyes open and you can your voice down.
Day trips, holidays local or a good distance worth every step.
Friendly people and beautiful open green spaces. What's not to love.

Relaxing family day out.
Aug 2021
Visited with family of 5 and found this to be a delightful seaside jaunt. Plentiful parking.

We took a nice walk past a golf course, then along a path to the lighthouse. Sadly unable to climb up it as pre-booking required 😬.

Big Rocks and rockpools surrounding that end for my kids to scramble about on and spend time with. We even saw a seal!

We then walked back, enjoying ice creams, great views and photo opportunities. Then finally went down to the sandy beach which was clean and lovely. Not overly busy. I saw no chavs or idiots mentioned in past reviews.

On this trip we didn’t explore the few shops and domed seaside building other end of the bay, but may well return if another nice day.

Highly recommended!

VERY DISAPPOINTING
Jul 2021
Visited for the first time on Wednesday July 20th 2021, what a disappointment for a seaside town, it resembled a ghost town with no shops selling kiddies things for the beach - no fairground rides infact there was nothing at all and the beach itself leaves a lot to be desired . For the height of the holiday season this was a huge let down!

In the past ten years Whitley Bay has become rejuvenated Jewel In the Crown, of NE coastal towns. Since the Spanish City and The Dome has had over £10 spent on ‘bringing it back’ to its former glory splendid seaside attraction. A visit will impress the most discerning visitor. It caters for all age ranges, with various interesting restaurants and a splendid tea room named Valeries Tea Room. Beside the Spanish Dome, is a modern 21 century build of an hotel and another restaurant chain, catering for the guests, staying in the hotel. Whitley Bay sea front has also had £ millions spent on it in the last 10 years. A short walk from The Spanish Dome are the usual ‘day trippers’ restaurant/cafes and a large amassment area. Whitley Bay has The Playhouse, which over the years has entertained the Theatre going public. A short walk from The Spanish City and The Dome is Park View, which is in the centre of the town. Here, there are numerous upmarket bars and restaurants. A lunch time treat, must not be missed at 127 on Park View. It is a family owned restaurant and is open early until 4 pm( closed Sunday). On Park View there is an established family owned Butchers, which has a game license. They make their own pies and sausages. The family who own this Butchers started trading in 1914. The third family generation is now the owner. Whitley Bay has recently been voted on of the best NE seaside towns to live at. The Schools have high grade acclaim. A trip to Whitley Bay is well worth planning. I define anyone not agreeing with my review.
