It's fading away
Oct 2021 • Couples
I remember when this piece of art (I think) was new. I couldn't say it was ever much to look at but now it is very faded as well as damaged in places and probably needs to be renovated or removed

Give it a miss. You can just see it. It has pretty much disappeared. So sad that it has because it would be pretty good.

I have never chose to see this I just have to walk or drive or go on a bus past it. It’s not blue and it’s not a carpet. Doesn’t look Like anything.

Abysmal

This is a horrendous thing. It can barely show up. No point of visiting just walk past it. No good what so ever.

What is this? I never notice a thing, well basically. I never knew what it was until I walked past it and the pictures on trip advisor helped me too.

I can understand why people give it such a low store on TA.It's a good idea with some poor choices made for the materials used. The blue colours as many have pointed out have faded badly and if someone has the sense to use something more durable for the soft blue, then I think the idea would look really nice.

The artwork itself works really well as it was always intended to simulate a visual peeling back of a layer of carpet or wooden panel. Personally I find it quite clever the way the peeling forms a bench.

Neglected and decaying. Even when it was new it was poorly implemented. Amazed it's even listed as an attraction. Walk on by...

Waste of money
Apr 2017
This was a total waste of money when it was first installed and can hardly be seen at all now. Totally pointless

This was a huge waste of money for a "blue" carpet which has turned grey with age, a bit like me! They even had to replace the original, dangerous, tiles after a load of accidents!

Misunderstood work of art
Dec 2016 • Solo
Just near the Premier Inn at the bottom of John Dobson street it is a quirky piece of art - it looks like a giant has just peeled back part of the pavement - reading the reviews I feel people just don't get it - it's fun
