Firstly if for not from the North East you probably have no idea what a Dene is. To clarify: "a vale, especially the deep, narrow, wooded valley of a small river." I'm lucky enough to live next to this and I'll be honest it one of the reasons I bought my house. Jesmond Dene (and it's neighbours Armstrong Park &... More

This is the most beautiful place and it has something for everyone. There is a small farm, a play ground. Beautiful walks easy and challenging. A cafe, toilets. A visitors center and extensive open areas for games and picnics.

We were looking for somewhere to go for a nice walk in the afternoon heat and came across this on the recommended activities on TA. I'm glad we did. The park provided some much needed shade for our infant son and we had a lovely peaceful walk around. It's only 20 mins from the city centre but very quiet and... More

We were staying at the wonderful Jesmond Dene house and it was lovely to be able to walk directly into the Dene. It's really beautiful and green. It felt like being in the countryside, even though it's not far from the city. Pets Corner was great ( for kids and big kids like us!). Specially loved the tortoises!
