We were a party of 2 grandparents, an 8 year old and a 14 year old and there was something here for all of us. From doing experiments to separate DNA to watching your own brainwaves this was entertaining and educational in a way that allowed you to gain as much as you wanted from each activity. Don't miss the... More

Suitable for young academic children, adults will enjoy it, right by the railway station, which in itself is a piece of history.

Not really,as granddaughter is 8! Brilliant morning..so much to get her mind going and so many hands on attractions. The Ice wall..with the pictures of purple noses really tickled me! An experiment into Vitamin C was brilliant..didn't know I liked science so much! Took me 50 years to long to find out! Too many surprises to list and the main... More

We have visited similar sites in other places (Amsterdam, Kopenhagen): both appeared to have a bit more 'guided' experience and explanations for children. Kids did very much enjoy the hands lab-experiments. When we were there, the exhibition Inside-Out was there: very interesting but I think without this, it would have been a bit disappointing.

The website gives good directions for where to park if you are coming from afar. Entry to the musuem was smooth and one child gets in free with one full paying adult. There is a lot for under 12s to do but not too much for teenagers in the main hall, however the exhibitions about the brain was illuminating and... More

Recommended for a day out with kids in Newcastle. Plenty to see and entertain the children, with interactive exhibits that they really seemed engrossed in. You could spend a good, long day here.

Went to see the inside animals exhibition which was interesting but not as good as the human one we had seen previously. We also saw the planetarium show and crunch the science of food show. Would have scored higher but I think it is quite expensive.

We're an educational charity and we don't receive any public funding, so our entry fees are a vital income stream for us, enabling us to continue providing educational science experiences. Most of our visitors report that we're good value for money,... More

Really enjoyed the exhibition. Fascinating to see the animals & how their bodies work. Rest of the centre very good too. Fantastic place to inspire young people's curiosity about the world around them. Well worth a visit.
