This place is OK on the afternoon if you're heading to one of the restaurants or the cinema. It is however quite different at night and can be quite rowdy with groups of hen and stags. The taxi rank outside after 11 is gruesome. I would give it a wide berth!

If we are in Newcastle, we will often visit here. There are plenty of restaurants including Italian, gourmet and American. There is also a cinema on the top floor, which is huge with plenty of screens, plenty of choice of films and great food (although a little expensive but what do you expect of a cinema?) There are also a... More

The Gate is ideally located in Newcastle city centre with plenty of parking facilities and is wheelchair accessible. There are plenty of restaurants to chose from (including Nandos, Wetherspoons, TGI Friday, Coast 2 Coast, Pizza Hut & Zaza world buffet) to chose from, and a variety of bars. For cocktails there is Opera Piano bar (some great live music) and... More

With Empire cinema on the top floor, a casino, several bars and numerous restaurants below, the Gate is a very good entertainment complex. Restaurants are mostly chains such as Pizza hut, Nandos, Frankie and Bennies with the occasional different one such as Zaza Bazaar or Coast to Coast. They've now added a Premier Inn (I believe or it could be... More
