Amazing day out
Jun 2021
Booked the tasting and tour for a hen party. Lucinda our host was so friendly, knowledgeable and really made an effort to get to know everyone in the party. She gauged the tone of the day perfectly and there was a lovely selection of wines to try. We even had our own picnic on her hill afterwards - the scenery is STUNNING. I cannot recommend this tour enough - you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous way to spend an afternoon
Jun 2021 • Couples
We had a fantastic day with a tour around the vineyard. Lucinda is very knowledgeable and the wines (especially the sparkling one!) are delish 😋. Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. If we could give more than 5 stars we would!

Lovely place with a great host!

Had a fantastic time at Blackdown Ridge Vineyard. This place is the real deal, not commercialised or pretentious. Lucinda was an amazing host, she told us all about the vineyard which was not rushed, she was hugely knowledgeable and spent time answering our questions. Really beautiful place and the wine was fabulous and well priced. Definitely go! Thank you Lucinda!

Couldn't recommend this highly enough. Spectacular views across West Sussex at this highly rated vineyard which is clearly a labour of love for the owner and staff. Our host, Lucinda, was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire winemaking process, from vine to glass, and made the experience fun and informative. Obviously, the highlight of the trip was the extensive tasting session of six different wines so I would advise visitors to take the train to Haslemere and then either walk (approximately one hour through glorious countryside/National Trust land) or take a taxi (approximately 15 minutes) to the vineyard.

Wonderful and informative visit to Blackdown Ridge
Sep 2018 • Friends
We visited with several friends on the most wonderful September day and the views were spectacular. We walked through the vineyard with Lucinda and were able to taste the different varieties of grapes, which made it even more interesting to then taste the wines. The tasting of two different white, a red, rose and two sparkling wines together with different cheeses and was very very enjoyable and you were able to purchase the wines if you wished to.

Fine afternoon at Blackdown Ridge
Jul 2018 • Couples
Hubby and i decided to start visiting some of our local vineyards, we've been to many abroad on various holidays but only a small handful in England. You could do worse than visit this one. Made to feel welcome at this small establishment, small only in team size though, big in beauty and views! Lucinda is your host, showing you around the vines and then on to the winery before heading back to a lovely cool building for a wine tasting. 6 very different wines later and you'll all agree, this is a top place for a visit. i wish them the best of luck, i hope they manage to get their wines onto the shelves of Majestic and Waitrose, they deserve to reach the bigger market.

A big thank you to Lucinda for such an excellent and informative tour today. I am a rose lover and was not disappointed with the rose I tasted.
I have been on many South African wine tours over the years and have to say that today was up there with the best wineries.
Well worth a visit

Short notice tour of vineyard followed by wine tasting.
Feb 2018 • Friends
Lucinda gave us a really informative and interesting tour of the Blackdown Ridge vineyard showing us the processes from vine to bottle in what has to rank as some of the most beautiful countryside in Sussex. Explaining each stage from choosing grape variety, planting, pruning, disease control through to harvesting and the various activities involved in producing the different wines in concise and understandable language that revealed her deep knowledge and passion for the business. Our group of 10 were then shown into the main house for an equally informative and enjoyable tasting. Highly recommended.
