Interesting 14 c church in beautiful countryside , the church was open and free to enter ,you can make donations from your phone or have some change with you . I wasn’t able to donate! , well worth checking out details of a local walk that takes in the Albury Park

Stopped briefly while on a walk through Albury Park to have a look at this nice church in an attractive setting. It dates from Saxon/Norman times and has an unusual dome on the top of the tower. Would have been interested to see inside but it wasn't open.

Try the public events during the summer, for example Shakespeare, to savour this wonderful architectual oddity, not normally accessible.

In attractive parkland, this is a fascinating church with features from Saxon and Norman times as well as later memorials and brasses. The Drummond Chapel differs from the rest of the church as it contains elaborate designs by Augustus Pugin, reminiscent of those in the Houses of Parliament.

We visited this ancient church on Heritage weekend and found it very peaceful. The interior is fairly austere, apart from the amazing Drummond chapel, decorated by Pugin. Plenty of interesting leaflets and beautifully maintained by the Churches Conservation Trust, it is not used regularly, the present Parish Church being closer to the centre of Albury village. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

I can't believe I holiday so close to this amazing church located in Albury Park. I attended an Easter service here once (it was freezing in April) and have visited a few times since - in the summer.

There is much to photograph and take in, especially as it is nearly 1,000 years old - fascinating for someone raised in Dubai!

This delightful Saxon Church, nestled in the heart of Albury Park, is well worth a visit. It's cool and peaceful interior is a haven from the bustle and stress of modern life. On entering through the heavy oak door, you are immediately aware of its history, having ancient reminders both on the walls as well the resting places beneath the cold stone flags of the floor. There is the exquisite Northumberland Chapel with its richly decorated walls and beautiful stained glass windows, as well as the brasses throughout the building. Fresh flowers for decoration are present throughout the year adding to the love of the volunteers who help to keep this old Church alive. There is a midsummer service and a carol service every year. Wedding blessings are also regular events here, too. Sheep graze in the churchyard, which is usually full of wild flowers at certain times of the year. For a peaceful interlude in a busy day, then this should be high on the list of places to visit.

Located in Albury, Guildford is this fantastic looking small church dating back to the 13th century. It looked closed up and we didn't think we could go in, so just admired it from outside. What a wonderful church.

This church is out of the way - I came across it doing a self-guided walk that I downloaded from the web. You can go inside and it is partially restored. It has a great atmosphere and there is a small cemetery attached. Some of the graves here go back to 1700 although most of them have lost their inscriptions. I definitely recommend visiting if you are in Shere.
