Lovely area for river walking. Alot of the river wey is worth visiting let it be godalming to tilford or guildford along to send and ripley. Picturesque locks and a good variety of wildlife from kingfishers and herons to deer and parakeets

Informative River Trip
Aug 2019
We enjoyed a visit to Dapdune Wharf and was lucky enough to have a trip on one of the Electric boats. We silently drifted down the river passing different historic places, which were pointed out by our skipper, who was extremely knowledgable about each place we passed. Would recommend this trip to old and young, thoroughly an enjoyable experience.

Super few hours
Sep 2019 • Couples
From the moment we arrived the warmth and enthusiasm of all the team/volunteers shone through. A lovely welcome together with an explanation of all we could see. The tea room was clean and again a lovely welcome. The boat trip was fabulous with Stephen giving us an interesting commentary covering the history of the Navigations and people involved.
All in all a great time. We will come back. Thank you guys.

Very interesting experience
Sep 2019
Lovely rural setting for this very historic site. You are able to experience what life was like for the people who worked on the wharf many years ago. There is a display of all the equipment used and also where they did all the work to the vessels. The history of the family who owned the wharf and also their relationship to royalty is very interesting.
There are also boat trips with commentary , the perfect place to go on a nice day.

Closed in school summer holidays
Sep 2019
We were disappointed to turn up and find Dapdune Wharf totally closed, despite it being the school summer holidays - this is very unusual for a National Trust place as most seem to be open daily in the summer.

They seem to have pretty limited opening hours - not open at all on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and only open from 11 on other days.

We couldn’t even go for a walk on the tow path as there was a locked gate blocking the access.

Dapdune Wharf
Aug 2019
Just very close to the town centre of Guildford and Parking is behind Surrey County Cricket Club .
Dapdune Wharf is brillant . Owned by the National Trust and a great day out for a boat trip and just chilling . The out buildings consist of a Ropery , Where you can buy gifts , A Stable and a Smithery .
A Gunpowder store (Used to be ) and a lovely exhibition about the Wharf it self .And when i visited a photography exhibition where you can vote for your favourite pic .
The boat trip was lovely , £4:20 per adult (Aug 2019 prices ) , A 40 mins round trip to Guildford town centre and back as the electric little boat (Holds 12 max ) slowey makes way upstream . The times vary as another boat takes you in the opposite direction . The town centre trips goes on the hour . The Skipper of the boat gives a running commentary and was superb , Telling you all about the history of the Wey .
The tea room had plenty of seating inside and out and the toilets are located there as well .
All of the staff were fantastic making you feel very welcome as well ..

River Wey & Dapdune Wharf
Aug 2019 • Family
We decided to visit the Dapdune Wharf on overcast Sunday morning and use our National Trust membership. There is ample parking and an overflow carpark .I would still suggest arriving early as a lot of people seem to get there early even to go running nearby the area is so nice and clearly popular.

There is a boat ride available (check season times) via electric boat that takes around 40 minutes and is well worth it for children and adults. The guide on the boat was very informative and told us about the history of the River Wey and surrounding area.

We took a picnic and spent a couple of hours here there was lots of picnic benches to sit and eat at.

There are lots of things for kids to look at and explore in the visitors centres and the old barge that’s now docked for you to explore.

A great way to spend a few hours with the family.

Crafty Thursdays
Aug 2019
Discovered by accident that Dapdune Wharf was doing various craft activities for young children every Thursday during school holidays. We headed down with the visiting 5 yr old and tried several activities such as making a fire lantern, a windsock, and some blackberry and clover mud cupcakes. Stickers were got and child was happy!! Free to adults if you're a National Trust member, £2.50 for the child.

A charming spot
Aug 2019 • Couples
This is a lovely spot. An old wharf beautifully kept. We took the shirt boat trip, 30minutes, along the river Whey. The skipper gave an interesting commentary about the history of the river and the barges that used it. The tea room is simple but nice.

Daft rules, otherwise very relaxing
Aug 2019
Took a pleasant little cruise on the River Wey on the nice quiet electric boat.

Only downside was the volunteer's silly rules: told passengers to put their phones in airplane mode, no food or drink on the boat. Found that rude and petty. He's treating it like his own little fiefdom.
