About
LOSELEY PARK ( GARDENS ONLY) IS OPEN FROM MONDAY'S TO THURSDAYS- 10-5PM UNTIL THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2020 . Built in the reign of Elizabeth I, Loseley Park stands in ancient Surrey Parkland close to the North Downs yet within reach of London. Still the home of the More-Molyneux family, it is remarkably unchanged since 1562 when Sir William More laid the first stones, and remains, as he intended, a place of calm, grace and subtle beauty. From the house itself, where the intricate panelling in the Great Hall was once in Henry VIII’s Nonsuch Palace; to the Tithe Barn with its ancient oak beams; to the elegant and restful walled garden, Loseley Park is sought after for civil weddings, corporate events, and as a location for films such as Sense and Sensibility. But it’s also a place to visit, to enjoy the grounds, the garden and house, and relax in one of England’s friendliest historic homes. ‘Invidiae claudor, pateo sed semper amico’ Shut to envy, but always open to a friend.

Lovely relaxing walk around the gardens with a friend, a good place to meet half way between us. Although it wasn't busy it too a while queuing to enter, with everyone having to add contact details (not just one from each group).
Once in we were free to wander and discover the artfully planted beds, the embankment above the river and the enjoy a coffee by the hut under the trees.

Only the gardens are open at the moment, which were absolutely beautiful and worth the visit if you love plants. The rose garden in particular was stunning and the sculptures highly complementary of their surroundings. Just wish I had the money to buy one! We went on a grey Saturday morning in August and it was very quiet. They definitely deserve more visitors. The cake at the pop-up tea shop was great. My only small gripe is that we couldn't find the road to the lake and it wasn't sign posted, so ask for directions!

In the current circumstances it's amazing they've actually managed to put on a garden show at all. Not surprisingly there were only a limited number of exhibitors but there were several nurseries selling a good selection of plants. The rest of the stands were a mix of crafts, furniture and clothing which were not really of interest to us. One stall just seemed to be selling socks! Everything was well spaced-out and people were generally pretty good at not getting too close. A couple of hours was enough to see everything, including time for a leisurely lunch. We brought our own lunch but there were various food stalls. Had to try the Loseley Ice Cream afterwards of course, which was very nice though expensive at £3 for a small tub.
After we'd finished with the show we went into the Walled Garden. This is included in the show entrance ticket and it's worth going for that alone as it's stunning. Definitely the highlight of our visit.

Waste of time going, £5.50 entry fee per person wasn’t worth spending. Apart from a few Christmas decorations it didn’t seem Christmassy at all. Over priced merchandise and lots of the same stalls.

Just visited the Garden Show at Loseley. Very dissapointed, I fail to see what Conservatory roofing/Double Beds (yes I did say BEDS)/Ladies Fashion/Jewellery/Food have to do with Gardens and Gardening???? Regrettably there were only about 12 stands actually selling plants. Won't waste my time or entry fee going again next year!! What a shame!!

We visited on 25th April, the first day of their new season. The gardens are lovely, very well maintained with beautiful flowers. The gardeners are friendly and knowledgeable.
The tea hut has moved to the White Garden, so now on hard standing and there is some cover if there is a shower. Glad to still have an option to buy food/drink outdoors. Good cup of tea and a choice of cakes, very pleasant staff serving. Limited choice of cold drinks if you don’t like the Fentimans range. The other choices are a child’s packet juice or water. The garden is not large, but is very relaxing and quiet. No gift shop on site any more.

I had high hopes for our visit to Loseley even though I was aware the house was not open. Entrance was £8.50 each. We’d seen the whole garden in about 40 minutes. Beautifully maintained but the roses were only in bud. Website states no picnics but that there was a cafeteria with refreshments cakes etc. The hut serving coffee and a small selection of cake was all there was. We were told the cafe is a short drive away. To cap it all there are only 2 unisex porta loos.

A beautiful place to visit, this time we didn’t go into the house as the weather was so good we wanted to spend longer the gardens. You can take note of the names on the plants for future reference at home or just enjoy the view, and the glorious scent in some parts of the garden. And of course the ice cream is a real treat. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours.

I was out jogging near Loseley this morning and was absolutely flabbergasted to see hunters on horseback and a pack of hounds in the grounds. The hunters had surrounded a wooded area and were shouting and hollering, presumably to encourage the hounds to go after foxes. I thought hunting was illegal, but it appears that the owners of Loseley don't care to much for the law if they allow this kind of activity to go on in their grounds! I would urge anyone who dislikes fox hunting and are thinking of holding their wedding at this venue to think again. Absolutely disgraceful Loseley!

Myself and colleagues, working between the Guildford and London areas, made a visit on the weekend. We advertised this on our website - to show employee satisfaction and cohesion, rather than anything else.
So when we found out that the site allowed fox hunting, which is illegal in the UK, and thus we had inadvertently supported illegal activity, we were shocked and disappointed. In terms of our image, to support cold blooded murder of innocent creatures, is unacceptable and I recommend anyone who attends this place to seriously consider the implications of their actions.

Hi there, I was just wondering if you are allowed to fish at the lake or if you can pay a fee or get permission to do so?

Apologies for the delay in responding, no i'm afraid fishing in the lake is not allowed.

Do you allow fox hunting in the grounds?

There is no local hunt. Fox hunting is of course illegal and I assume you are referring to drag hunts? Even so there is no local hunt so it’s not an issue. As I am not the owner I have no idea what their opinion is on hunting, though the league against cruel sports does have its headquarters in Godalming, the nearest town.
Can we take a picnic to eat in the grounds

Hi I don't know if anyone can help me but I am trying to trace one of the exhibitors from one of your previous garden shows! We bought a solar powered water feature about 2/3 years ago which is great but this year (getting it into operation for the summer) we have mislaid the solar part which fits in the top! So disappointed and now can't find another part which will work. This is a long shot but would be so grateful if you have anymore information. Thanks very much Jean Pilgrim

Dear Jean
Thanks for your enquiry. The company was West Country Solar (Steve Smith) and their number is 01278 787336. I hope you have success getting the replacement part.
Kind regards
