We visited on a very hot afternoon, the coach to take us round the site lacked air-conditioning, however we were able to get off and walk round some of the areas, the stallion yard where we viewed three in their stables happily munching on hay, and fields where the mares and foals grazed happily in the sun with their foals... Went to see the horses and learned much more than I expected. The guide was so knowledgeable and told us all about the horses and the history of The Jockey Club. We had plenty of time to enjoy the weather and see the facilities and of course the stunning horses.

We arrived at the coffee shop and were met by Larry who is a friendly and nice guy. He said to order our lunch for later. We had time to have a coffee before we set off in the tour bus to the downs to see the riding out of the horses. What a beautiful sight that was. There were... More

Book yourself on to one of the guided tours here for an informative introduction to the world of thoroughbred horse breeding. And you get to cuddle foals! (assuming you time your visit right... the last batch of foals are on site up til July only really)

Our third visit to Newmarket races and we love it. Unfortunately the weather turned very bad and a lot of horses pulled out of the races, this messes up the odds and each way places but that's the way it is. I prefer the family enclosure as you are free to move around with your drinks. Thanks Adnams and The... More

We went to the National Stud last Sunday, and the first thing I must say is that my review has no criticism of our guide Larry who was excellent. But at this time of the year I think visitors should be warned there is not a great deal to see, we were driven by bus to see three mares and... More

Chose this as our outing on a reunion weekend and we were not disappointed. It was a fascinating couple of hours seeing the workings of the Stud, set in the most beautiful tranquil surroundings. The tour guide was very informative and made it very interesting. As someone with only a passing interest in horse racing, I really enjoyed it, and... More

Good insight into the working of the National stud & it's importance to thoroughbred horses. Also made me aware of the educational resource for young people wishing to work within the horse industry. Gift shop was very discreet & had an unusual range of products, relevant to the work of the National stud.

Thank Jean W
