I am really fussy about my roasts and usually am disappointed BUT the Cock Horse Inn roast is absolutely delicious. To add to the amazing food the staff are attentive and service is excellent. All this in a wonderful setting in the stunning Lavenham..what's not to love?

We had a family meal on a Thursday night. Quiet in there with just a couple of other tables eating. Service was slow even though but we did spot them advertising for more waiting staff outside which might explain this. The food is excellent - great choice and very delicious, well Presented too, just slow being served. Ham hock starter was tasty!
The decor and ambience is a funny one. Not sure if we like it or not..! Lights were WAY too bright and background music only started playing at about 8:30. This was a nice edition to help the atmosphere. We asked the server whether they could turn the spotlights down over our table to see what it was like and it was 100 times better! They should keep it like that at all times! Far nicer.
Outside garden space is looking good too.
In terms of scoring, I wish tripadvisor had a ‘good’ option as it’s not quite ‘very good’ but is better than ‘average’. Food saves the day here and I would return again to see how things progress.

We purchased a takeaway supper of fish, chips and peas followed by cheesecake on Saturday evening. Delicious and all for £10. Thanks guys, well done. We will definitely do this again.

Visited at 9am in the morning for breakfast as it was advertised on the opening times in the display cabinet outside. I arrived to it being closed and on the door it said opening at 12pm so two different opening times.

A pleasant ambience, lovely staff, and excellent chips. Unfortunately the bread in our sandwiches was stale and I've never had cold sausage sandwiches before. Not just warm but cold. A pity as we'd been looking forward to eating here. Won't be back.

Friendly staff and nice quality food. However disappointed with the choice of drinks as there was no fizzy cider e.g. Aspalls available just still cider - just a point for improvement. Overall, we had a very nice meal out and would definitely return.

We were having a brief tour of North Essex and Suffolk had a look round Lavenham a beautiful old town, went into the the Cock for some lunch, we had our dog with us and she was allowed to sit inside with us in the front bar, the food was traditional pub food, we had ham egg and chips, lovely proper chips and lovely lean ham, and 2 large nicely cooked soft eggs. The land lord and land lady were very welcoming, would recommend this pub as part of your visit to Lavenham
