We pre booked an afternoon tour as a party of 7. Maureen our guide was excellent and conducted a thoroughly interesting and informative tour of the brewery, as well as including some history about local landmarks and the more famous residents of Bury. Afterwards, we enjoyed a flight of beers and an opportunity to sample other ales. Well worth the... More

We visited this brewery in the afternoon, only to find out that they only have one tour per day. It was at 2.30pm. So it might be lovely but we can't tell you. So check the schedule well in advance.

Hello, Shame that you missed our tour. All our tours can be booked either online at www.greenekingshop.co.uk or by calling us on 01284 714297. We are particularly busy at weekends, and often fully booked, so planning ahead is a really good idea. Hopefully we will see you another time. Kind Regards Cathy More

An interesting old building and an interesting brewery tour. We started off in the shop at the base of the brewery, where besides perusing the merchandise for sale there is also a history of the company on the wall, along with many pictures. It had never occurred to me for example, that the present company was formed from a merger... More

Well - I dragged my non ale drinking wife along and she enjoyed it. Maureen our guide was so knowledgeable and enthuiastic that by the end and during the tastings it was like the group had known her for years. Thoroughly recommend and the tastings were great fun to do.

I went to this brewery with friends and I had a great time. The tour includes a tour through the brewery and a brief historical review of the Brewery and bury St Edmunds. It wasn't expensive and was a great way to start a pub crawl. I'm a Cider man personally but the experience was just awesome. I can definitely... More

Very historic and interesting brewery. My wife's family worked there generations ago. The museum is shut down, a shame. Yours are there but we couldn't go because no kids under twelve allowed. The gift shop was a bit lacking in memorabilia but the beer was fantastic. The cafe had a nice small menu incorporating the beer. Delicious.

Very interesting tour provided by our tour guide John. He was very knowledgable considering he is from outside the brewing industry. The actual tour takes just over an hour and includes climbing over 100 steps so not suitable for everyone. The tasting at the end of the tour was excellent. It was great to try several beers and the atmosphere... More

We have lived in the area for many years and this was the first time on this tour. Recently renovated the shop and Beer Cafe were very welcoming. John was our tour guide; he was entertaining and knowledgeable. There are about 114 steps to be climbed during the course of the tour so closed-in shoes rather than sandals are required.... More

John, our guide, was excellent and very informative. It was great value for money. I was surprised at how much I didn't know about brewing beer, but came away much more knowledgeable. The tasting, of course, was exceptional. This tour is a must if you visit Bury St Edmunds.
