Price a bit naughty
Dec 2019
£5.90 for a pint of Jaipur is a bit naughty !! I stood there open mouthed when I handed £10.00 over for 2 pints and he said I needed an extra £1.80 .

Tebesq, sorry for the delayed reply, I have been finding out what's gone on as that is not the right price for Jaipur and it's been a combination of a few errors unfortunately. Can you please email me at waspsnestyard@outlook.com so we can explain? I hope other than that you enjoyed your visit and would come back again. Please do email. Many thanks and Happy Christmas :)

Thanks for the review, we do appreciate it. We are more expensive than some of the High Street bars (not all) but I will do a bit more research again and check we are competitive still. Thanks for leaving a review, it is really appreciated :)

Burns Night
Jan 2019 • Couples
Recently attended a Burns Night Celebration at the Wasps Nest. It was catered by Stacey the Chef from the Hope & Union (across the courtyard). We went along with another couple to celebrate my husband's upcoming Birthday & had a fantastic night. The service staff were superb, nothing too much trouble. (As designated driver I was offered a free soft drink while everyone else sipped their complimentary dram!) The venue is very olde worlde & perfect for a Burns Night meal. The entertainment (the magnificent Freddie reading Tam O'Shanter) was brilliant & we had an awesome evening. A huge shout out must go to Chef Stacey who exceeded all my expectations with her Vegan Haggis Dish - it was a revelation - YUM! In fact all the food was superb & the whole party cleared their plates with every course. We cannot wait for next year & will definitely be visiting again for a drink & popping to the Hope & Union (same proprietor) for some scrummy Veggie food! Well done Ryan & Staff

Burn's Supper a hit
Jan 2019 • Couples
Fantastic Burn's Supper at this cosy venue. Our first time and in fact didn't know it was here in these historic lanes. Had a recommendation from my son. The menu was imaginative, inclusive and spot on for a classier Burn's night. All three courses were delicious and arrived hot - apart from the pudding! The cranachan was tasy with plump fresh raspberries and decorated with a sprinkling of toasted oats. If I was being really picky it might have benefitted from a spoonful of heather honey run through it.
The haggis was addressed by a piper in his kilt. Food was amazing and the portions generous. We were entertained after supper by Freddie's rendition of Tam O'Shanter - with a very good explanation beforehand of some of the terms (for the sasenachs). We found the staff really attentive and helpful as well as being very friendly. There was one long table and it worked so well. Everyone introduced themselves and the conversation flowed. Shame we had to leave early but we really really hope it will become an annual event.

Lovey selection of drinks
Jun 2018 • Friends
I visited on Saturday with a excitable bunch of lads on a stag do. The guys were very welcoming and had a good range of drinks the icing on the cake was that they stock Gluten free Peroni. Despite us being a bit loud the staff were very friendly and let me charge my phone. They have a great beer garden that faces on to the hope and Union another great bar in Stocktons run of recent little gems. We had a great experience as we did everywhere in Stockton. Its only a matter of time before Stockton is the go to town for a great night out.
