About
The Georgian Theatre is the oldest Georgian provincial theatre in the country (1766) - situated within the 'Cultural Quarter' of Stockton-on-Tees, England - and managed / programmed by Tees Music Alliance; a not for profit music charity working for the benefit of artists and audiences. The building was re-purposed in 1993 as a live music venue and has a capacity of 300 people (standing). Seated events are also programmed. A refurbishment in 2017 saw new bar and cafe space offering daytime opening - with snacks and bar meals presented alongside a wide range of real ales, craft beers and specialist spirits. The venue is family friendly; dogs are welcome; and breast feeding / baby changing / bottle warming facilities are available. In 2016, The Georgian Theatre received accreditation by disability champions "Attitude is Everything" and became the only venue in Teesside to be formally recognised as being fully accessible for patrons with a disability.

Cracking little venue for live music. Drove from Gateshead to see John last night. Sound was spot on, decent bar, friendly staff and just a genuinely nice feel about the place

On street parking few hundred yards along the road was free in evening. Walked past the entrance to the little lane to the theatre on first attempt …a little lit up pathway between the shop fronts

Sea Power gig on 11/09. Nice venue, small, good bar, clean loos nd a decent room layout with decent sound. Cramped if people are anxious in terms of distancing, but a good venue for a gig.

This was our second Wandering Hearts Concert in a week and we were a little apprehensive as we had not been to the venue before and we were concerned about how things would be with COVID-19 and no restrictions.
Well we were really impressed. Great venue, great staff and good sound.it was an all seated gig and many were wearing masks especially when moving around the venue.
Plenty of car parking in the high street and surrounding area.
We will be back

Best spent fiver of my holiday!
Sep 2020
Having taught Theatre history to A level students for 25 years this was a wonderful opportunity to see for myself all the inner workings of a Georgian Theatre which has been so lovingly and respectfully restored. Unbelievably small and intimate - it left me desperate to actually experience a performance there - what a shame Covid will keep the theatre dark till next Spring.
The tour was delivered with great knowledge and enthusiasm by a member of the theatre - overall I felt it was the best spent fiver of my entire holiday!

The second best Georgian Theatre in the Land!!
Dec 2019
Recently went with my son (11) to watch the 'Quireboys', and was hugely impressed, not only by the fact they encourage you to bring your young out in public to listen to live music, but also by the friendliness of the staff from the bar to the door patrol...yes even the young lady in box office!!! Oh, if only the Georgian Theatre Royal in Sunny Richmond Town didn't exist!! Keep up the good work...you to do Georgian Theatres everywhere proud!!!

Great venue for gig
Nov 2019
First time we have visited this venue. Tucked away, but with some great bars nearby and places to park close by.

A great size for a smallish gig and really pleasant surroundings. Staff were all very nice and the bar drinks were reasonably priced.

Just about to sign up to the mailing list as we will definitely return.

Aug 2018 • Friends
Last night my Son and I were at the Georgian for a gig .I've been more than once and just love nights out here .This venue is a must if your a fan of punk rock or even if your a band. The venue is a nice size for smaller gigs.Saw 3 bands last night The filth Knock off and Dirt Box Disco .the night was outstanding. the bands were excellent and the atmosphere fantastic.
The bar does sport sime decent IPA beers for th. craft beer fan
I have yet to try the food but I have heard good reports .
If your looking for somewhere for a cheap night and make a memory this place is worth a look .bookmark them and check in sometimes .
