Monkey Forest is completely unique to the UK. It is the only place that you can walk amongst 140 Barbary macaques roaming free in 60 acres of beautiful English Forest. Walking in the park transports you into a different world through close contact with the monkeys.

The monkeys are free ranging here and you can see them all round the park high and low. It's especially interesting when the babies are about as they all push one another in the water and are chasing one another, it's very satisfying to watch. I love this place, it's fairly cheap too at I believe £8/ £10 per person.... More

My friend and I had a great day. We started off with a coffee as the drive took longer than expected with all the roadworks at the Manchester end. The restaurant is nice and spacious with plenty of seating outside. I have no complaints about the facilities. There is a picnic and play area for young children although if it... More

We arrived here at 2pm on the hottest day of the year so far. Personally I wasn't bothered about visiting this place but the missus insisted, I'm so glad she did. There are hundreds of monkeys scattered around the forest and no fences or cages so they roam freely (they literally walk right past your feet). I was a bit... More

We went here for my son's 1st birthday. He really enjoyed himself and loved watching the monkeys. There wasnt much choice for lunch from the cafe but still a fab afternoon.

The mature woodland is wonderful and to experience the monkeys roaming free is a lovely experience especially for children. Monkeys are swinging through the trees and chasing each other, the babies are delightful and its great to see them being carried around by their parents. A great time to be had and the admission cost is not expensive. I would... More

This place is lovely, the kids loved being able to walk amongst the monkeys and on talking to the staff there, they are doing a wonderful bit for conservation too. We easily spent a morning there and will be back for sure, it's such a lovely area to walk round and the free roaming monkeys

We loved it here, my toddler had a fab time watching and learning about the monkeys. Staff helpful, and chatty and humoured the younger guests. Good play parks for little ones. Good value too.

We went on a sunny Sunday afternoon after visiting the gardens. It was fab. Monkeys on the loose and lots of them. The guides were brilliant at explaining the monkeys habits etc. There was a play park and cafe for a rest from the long walk round. Then we took a boat ride back to the gardens. Had a great... More

We had never heard of this place and was taken by friends. There about 140 monkeys in two groups within the forest. There are no cages and the monkeys are free to roam around you (no touching allowed). We were lucky and there were a few babies recently born. The walk is nice through the woods, but does involve some... More
