This is my local park and we’re so lucky to have it on our doorstep. There’s a great play area for the kids, lots of open spaces for dogs and picnics and whatnot, and it’s well maintained. The slight downsides are the poor toilet facilities (they’re a bit grotty and rarely open) and - as some people have pointed out - the older kids who hang around the skate park can be a bit of a nuisance. But generally it’s a lovely place.

I recommend everyone to bring their dogs to wildwood park. The best times are 10-1 and 7-9 as this is when there aren't many children around so you can let your furry friends off lead. There are so many dogs around that it's great for socialising!

bunch of creepy teenagers hanging around the place . were running riots arround the place. took my young niece here and i was mortified. they were filming them selves do ramdom things for example eating an egg. one was dressed rather oddly in a suit and tie and the others looked like chavs in track suits. they scared my niece off as they were booting foot balls around.
other than this is it a wonderful place been many times before with no trouble, we love coming here and having picnics and playing ball games. just a shame the youth of today have no respect ;(

On visiting the park on Thursday 9th March 2017 at 4pm with my 5 year old grandson, about 8 teenage children were running riot on the park. Jumping off the small slides, swinging the swings with such force they were dangerous to walk near, kicking out, 2 or 3 on the little trampoline at a time. The little ones were terrified. It needs a ban on older children using the little ones facilities and CCTV would be helpful as vodka bottles are regularly being smashed on the approach to the park.
I would avoid this park with small children as it is only a matter of time before a small child is injured here.

Perfect for families, free car parking and toilet facilities. As a family we spent about 4hrs here, the children happily played and made new friends. Nice surroundings, younger children would need to be watched as the canal runs alongside. Open spaces too so don't forget your bat and ball :)

Please be aware, dogs off-leash are not allowed in this park. We had a great time with kids in the park. Some people were not following the rule of keeping dogs on leash.

The park has al sorts for not only children but there’s an exercise area with machines for adults to use, lots of open area to picnic and run around . There’s a skate bowl plus an enclosed football area. A great place for kids to wear themselves out

Wildwood Park is a bit of a hidden gem. The playground was refurbished to a really high standard a couple of years ago and there's a BMX/skate area and basketball courts. The other side of the two football pitches there's a medium size wooded area (we call that the Wild Wood) where you can go and explore. All with a nice quiet canalside setting (it is a little way from the park but isn't fenced so watch the little ones near the water.
