My fiancé & I visited on a Sunday afternoon & spent a few happy hours here. We love animals & were very impressed with what has been achieved here - so many animals have been rescued from abuse & neglect and brought to this wildlife centre. The entry fee is only £4, which is amazing value, as there is a... More

We bought tickets off the internet for Gentleshaw birds of pray center to take our 2 grandchildren who were staying with us . You have to go through the garden center to get to it . there was lots of birds & some small animals there ,the grandchildren loved it . After looking around we were able to go outside... More

I visited Gentleshaw with my daughter and my grandchildren and we had a nice few hours there. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Their care and love for the animals and birds of prey is evident in all they do. My only criticism is that I think it could do with a little more TLC as it looks a bit... More

I visited Gentleshaw for the first time and was amazed. This is foremost a rescue charity that opens its doors to help fund the rescue and care of animals. It was wonderful;so many diverse animals with staff that are clearly devoted and knowledgeable. It was great to see that it is constantly developing. There is going to be a new... More

Visited Gentleshaw wildlife today for a zoo keeper experience. I cannot express how fantastic the experience was for both myself and my son. It is a small animal wildlife centre looking after rescue animals. Various animals from birds of prey, cats, monkeys and our favourite, Saxon the wolf dog. The staff were very knowledgable and passionate about looking after unwanted... More

Located at the back of the garden centre, next to the small train. This place has a lot of exhibits. It could do with a tidy up, but the birds and animals seem well cared for.

I purchased a few zoo keeper experience vouchers for my Godson, his mom and myself. I expected a decent morning, but we had the most fun. We were so surprised by the number of animals on show. As zoo keepers we inter-acted with a number of them and were also able to walk around and see all those rescued beauties.... More

I was extremely impressed with this little gem. There is a small train track, a crazy golf area and park with picnic tables and a play area for children, as well as friendly little tea room accompanying the garden centre. The amount of animals on show for such a small cost is surprising and as it is a rescue centre... More

We visited on 24th April as part of our zoo tour and had a great day there. Being predominantly a rescue centre, the work this place is doing is great. It is sad to hear the background stories of the animals but it is good to know they are now being cared for by a loving group of people. We... More
