If you find a better, more perfectly used park by a local council in Britain I would be shocked.
Beacon Park covers roughly one third of this amazing city, almost every week throughout the summer it is utilised to its full extent with festivals, shows and concerts. From car shows to The Proms.
The leading area into the park is a haven of tranquility in the shadow of the magnificent cathedral with beautiful gardens and a cafe.
Where I lived previously we had a beautiful park with a lake, and Dudley Council rather than repair the tennis courts removed them this makes really appreciate what we have here.
At the proms a friend quoted that it was Glastonbury for pensioners as 20,000 people enjoy a wonderful evening of music in a perfect setting.
The kids play area is amazing and is supported by a small fair during summer months.

I live less than a 10 minute walk from Beacon Park and I’ve been walking the fields and paths for a few years now with my dog and I never get bored of it. The park is great for my three kids, so much to do, keeps them entertained for hours, great for picnics, field games (the field is huge) and a nice little cafe to grab a bite to eat, drink or ice-cream, or a 5 min walk into the town centre, cathedral or minster pool. Feel very lucky and bless to have this on my doorstep 😊 oh and the birds in the morning are just magnificent!!

This park is in the center of the City and here you can do many things including go for a leisurely walk, play golf, take kids to the children's play area, play crazy golf, tennis, basketball, bowls, play disk, foot golf and a lot more. Beacon Park also has some nice flower beds, and a fountain surrounded by Lions!. There are also a number of statues to see including one tp the Captain of the Titanic. If you are coming by car then I would recommend Bunkers Hill car park.

A beautiful park which is well-maintained with some lovely gardens contained within it too. Plus tennis courts and a children's play area. Many people walk through here however it is very easy to socially distance so you don't get too close to each other.

This is a good park near the Cathedral and Bird Street in the City centre. The park has some good paths and flower beds as well as tennis courts and other facilities. Captain Smith late of RMS Titanic has a statue here as he was fairly local (Hanley). Overall a pleasant half hour was spent strolling through the park.

Located near the shopping centre and the Cathedral. A well established and maintained park used by both joggers and walkers. The flower arrangements are now looking a bit dowdy but still worth a look. There are a number of statues around the grounds and benches to sit and ponder. Always a pleasure to visit.

Beacon park is a lovely big park with lots of space even when busy there plenty of room there football pitches and tennis courts plus places to have a picnic. There a huge outdoor playground but unfortunately nobody bothered bout social distancing around there so didn't explore that area as it was heaving. Generally a nice big clean park lots of space.

Whenever we visit Lichfield with our grandchildren this is a must park to spend time in .We live on the edge of Sutton park in Sutton Coldfield but it doesn’t have the facilities Beacon Park offers . The cafe is lovely with good hot drinks and snacks .The playground is always popular . There are donkey rides in the summer and it’s a place where scooters and bicycles can be used .Away from the children’s area it’s peaceful and the gardens are well tended and colourful. There are toilets and the pathways give good access for wheelchairs . .

Park for the kids is brilliant. Lots of benches for parents to watch over children. Crazy golf £2.70 each it’s ok but in desperate need of a make over. You can go round as many times as you like!

Are there plenty of picnic benches a way from the path?
Written September 5, 2019
There are tables but I would take a nice blanket and sit on the grass

Hi, can we bring our motorhome for the day? Is there parking available? Are we able to have a bbq on the site? Thanks
Written August 21, 2019
No unfortunately it does not cater for Motorhomes, I don't know of anywhere in Lichfield that does.

Is the park wheelchair friendly? How much is it to park?
Written June 18, 2019
I don't recall seeing anything which would impede a wheelchair user. The paths in the park are wide and in good condition. Can't remember any steps which might be a problem. We parked elsewhere and were on foot so sorry, can't really help with cost of parking; if you go to the visitlichfieldhistoricparks website (sorry, Trip Advisor won't let me put a link in here so Google it if needs be) you'll get what information is available and a phone number for enquiries.
Oh let's be daring and see if they let me give you the phone number: 01543 308867.
Good luck.
