Over-prised toast and marmalade
Nov 2021
Not a good experience this morning. Nice coffee. Ordered toast and marmalade which was priced £2.50 on the menu. When we received the bill, toast and marmalade was priced at £4. Queried this, we were told prices had gone up. This makes the most expensive toast and marmalade we have ever had, and poor practice not to change menu prices.

A very pleasant visit
Jul 2021
Loved the many craft cabins. Something for everyone for sure. Quite a strong ethos of reuse & recycling which is something very important for me. Only had a cuppa & a cake in the cafe but they were excellent & served with a smile. On the way out there is a small zero waste shop too. I shall go prepared with containers to fill next time

Very Poor Cafe
Oct 2020 • Friends
A twee little garden centre that isn’t over commercialised but still has a nice range of garden essentials and accessories. There’s also an array of franchise huts selling crafty nick-nacks and gifts which is quite pleasant. If you visit be mindful of the weather as this is mostly outside with uncovered walkways.
Whilst visiting we ate at the cafe which isn’t that great to be honest. For what it is, food is pricey, over cooked, bland, poorly presented and staff that really need some training in customer service, everything seemed as though we were interrupting their day and they were doing us a favour by being open rather than being appreciative of our custom. It’s really more akin to a greasy spoon than a garden centre eatery. Don’t think a return visit will be on the cards.
Star rating is more reflective of the cafe than the garden centre as these cannot be shown separately.

Very poor cafe. Not much of a garden centre
Jul 2020 • Family
Very small supposed garden centre, but it is mainly small ‘huts’ with separate businesses in...... which are all closed on a Monday.

We ate lunch at the cafe. The chips were nice. The battered fish however, although looked good, wasn’t! The batter was raw on the inside and very stodgy. Just had to pick out the fish from within. The sausage, mash and gravy was poor. Standard sausages, watery mash with very watery brown water masquerading as gravy. Small portion, certainly not value for money at £10,95!!

Would not recommend eating there.

a pleasant visit

A mixed use garden centre as it has a craft village on site, various shed type huts that sells a range of things. Most of these were due to open next week when the lockdown restrictions begin to lift.

The garden centre was selling handmade face masks in a range of colours. It also had some nice garden fountain / water display items & lots plants seeds inside.

Coffee stall with coffee to go was available.

Small bakery at front side of the shop complete with ice creams inside was really tempting as it was a warm day.

Cafe more than disappointing
Mar 2020
Had lunch today 7th March in the cafe consisting of gammon, bubble and squeak with poached egg and vegatables also beef stew with mash potato. I have to say that for the price of £30.50p including 2 so called cappuccino was rather extortionate. My husbands gammon was hidden beneath the small portion of what we think was an original frozen portion of bubble and squeak. If it was a 4oz piece it was arguable the poached egg was bigger. Also the gammon was rock hard. The price for this was £11.99 The cappunnino had no froth probably due to the fact it was scaling hot milk and was more like a lattee. When asked if our meals were ok we told them with regard to the gammon and we had a reply of sorry. What is the point of asking if you have no intention of rectifying the matter. This was our first visit to the cafe and were most disapointing

Disappointed and underwhelmed
Feb 2020 • Family
I visited here with my family for lunch. I ordered from the main menu a goats cheese and beetroot salad for £11.95. I was quite disappointed with my lunch when it arrived as for £11.95 I was expecting much more. The salad itself tasted fine, however, portion size was underwhelming. I had one small beetroot and 4 slices of cucumber and tomato with a small handful of leaves. Similar to what you would expect from a side salad. My children’s meals were a much bigger portion. I was left still hungry and really disappointed especially after paying almost £12. I did not have the chance to raise this with staff as it was very busy and we were not attended to.

Recommended by a close friend & HOW RIGHT, he was👍

I'm one that, like others - looks at reviews and thinks....
If I'm in two minds, I'll simply give any business a fair chance..

Today (17/02/2020), I visited this hidden away diamond, of an established restaurant and I'm pleased to say, it was simply GREAT.

The team of staff, were attentive and frequently enquiring if we were happy and if we needed anything else, etc - but, without being over bearing.

The quality of the full English brekkie, was simply divine..
Not excessive quantities, but quality produce - and I left, feeling pleasantly fulfilled, but not bloated - portions were spot on and well done to the chef and management, for getting ALL the balances, correct.

Highly recommended, for all to enjoy and spend time there.,
....Additionally, there were a couple of families, with small children & I observed, they were cared for - very well too👍
