We can upon this by chance but it was lovely to walk along the close and see the houses. I liked the fact that the school are still using the houses so lots of young people coming in and out. We only took 5 minutes...More

Lovely quaint street next door to the cathedral which is well worth a visit. Cobled street with houses of varying styles.

If you're going to the cathedral, do pop along to Vicars Close which around the back. As noted by others, it's Europe's oldest residential street and I found it surprisingly easy to take photos without people or cars in it. I parked in South Street...More

The houses are all quite different and the street is so peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Fascinating and educational medieval street frozen in time next door to the Cathedral. Look up as soon as you leave the main road for a written description of its history.
