Such a beautiful historic location to take time out and relax finding out about the local history and people. Visited this location more than once and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of the exhibitions and talking to the local volunteer. Make it a must do on your day out.

Definitely Worth A Visit

This museum is a credit to Glastonbury. It’s simple, easy to navigate and a really interesting building to visit. I spent a good hour here and loved it. The artefacts are so interesting and date back to the ‘iron age’ and before. It tells you how the marsh people lived, how they built their homes here and how they developed in the area and built their islands. It also pays homage to the archaeologists who discovered it and gave their working lives to the sites.
Glastonbury is full of myth & legend but this is pure bona fide history and is so worth a visit. Like all things in Glasto the entrance fee is a snip.
I found the staff very helpful and the museum light and airy & pleasant place to be. The building itself dates back to the Plantagenet / Tudor periods.
The museum is run by volunteers and so is not open all week or for long hours – please check, but it is definitely worth a visit.

Such interesting history of the surrounding area and first peoples who occupied this space, showing that the Glasto area has been a center for a very long time. An impressive array of artifacts.

I really liked this tiny little museum, and find myself fascinated with the people of the lake villages 2000 years ago.

Nice little museum

Actually this was old court house but museum itself was a surprise that wasn't anything to with the original place.

This was quite interesting museum - nice artifacts from archeological excavations.

Not for those who don't want to read and aren't interested of history.

Amazing Artefacts

A little treasure trove housed in a magnificent medieval building. Stunning artefacts from the nearby Glastonbury Lake Village. Well displayed, giving quite an insight into local skills of over 2000 years ago. Friendly, helpful staff. Well worth a visit. Be aware that main galleries are on first floor, accessed by stairs.

Very small museum

Situated on the first floor of the Tourist Information Centre and entry is free for English Heritage members. Two separate rooms detailing the history of the lake villages and the discovery of them in the last century. The exhibits are all housed in glass cases, including a Canoe. Whilst the subject was interesting it really needed a larger building to show off the collections to their best.
