I was lucky to get a sunny day and it is a genuine effort to climb it. But it is worth it. Amazing views and swallows were circling around the tower. Druids were there doing a service for a few minutes then the tower was free empty and awesome. Such history, memories and imagination.

We walked up the road to The Tor and made our way up the steeper side, it was quite challenging but do-able. Wonderful views from the top especially on a clear day. If you want an easier way up (which we found because we went down this way) take the public footpath at the beginning of the Tor road, on... More

Fantastic views across the Somerset and Avalon levels. Need to be fit and healthy to make the climb but worth it. You can however in the summer months take the bus from the Cathedral car park, this drops you off half way up.

This is an absolute must visit. The Tor is magic - One extremely good piece of advice for all who ascend the summit: Take a wish with you and repeat it as you go up. The Tor will deliver the rest. Be wise in what you ask for and do not be surprised if it is granted in super swift... More

When it's not foggy you get an amazing view of the Somerset levels. It's a real climb to get up to but from the top its is just stunning.

Whenever I spot the Tor rising above the landscape I know I'm coming home. It just draws you like a beacon, a breast rising out of the Vale of Avalon. Steeped in myth and history from King Arthur to Gwyn Ap Nuth king of the Underworld, St Bridget, the Nine Morgens even the first wattle Christian church built at it's... More

I took a walk up the Tor on a warm evening towards sunset and was delighted to see both the moon on my left (not quite full but nearly there) and the sun setting on my right. I didn't have a torch so I had to leave before the sun had set but had time to enjoy the magnificent view.

I've been up the tor many times as it holds a certain amount of nostalgia for an old hippy. Climbed the tor late at night to see the stars. Unfortunately you tend to get a lot of noise young people and it spoils the atmosphere. It is worth seeing but I wouldn't bother making a special trip. Sad eh.

Look out for car thieves. The lanes close to the Tor are apparently well known for this problem. A lady had her side window smashed and possession s stolen while we were there. The view is great, atmosphere is fantastic. Its a great scramble to the top for the fantastic views and watching the sun go down is amazing.. So... More

The weather was perfect, not too hot and clear to to coast. Be prepared for the hike and take water. The effort is worth it, just for the excellent view.
