This is a lovely and surreal museum. We had a nice stay once again at Butlins,Minehead with the grandchildren and this museum was one of the stand out highlights of our holiday.
It is free entry but relies on donations and is well worth a visit.
The lady on reception was kind and helpful but I apologise for using too much hand sanitiser on her biro.

A truly wonderful exhibition of dolls and toys through the last century. Its a shame that the number of volunteer helpers has dwindled as we were not able to go in this year (September 2011) and were sorry to have missed the amazing displays.

Visited Dunster, and after looking round the Castle and having a cream tea - the heavens opened. We ducked in here until it had passed - bit cheeky of us I know, but it was free.
Dolls have never been my cup of tea, even as a little girl - in fact I find some of the older ones a bit creepy with their 'flappy' eyes, but I have to say it is a real labour of love for the staff.
There's lots and lots of dolls in all shapes, sizes and ages and they are all beautifully presented.
I recognized some from my own childhood and from my grandmother that have been handed down through the family.
Interesting and nostalgic.

I went here with my husband and young son, it was quite interesting for me as I recognised some dolls from my childhood, certainly in better condition than some of mine were. There is a mixture of old dolls and some more up to date ones, a wills and Kate doll for instance, some really creepy looking ones too and you got the feeling a load of people had just cleared their attics out and sent donations here. I'm glad it was free to get in as I couldn't really set a price on this one I'm afraid.

This dolls museum is in the heart of Dunster main street. Small and donations have been given by local people.
It is wheel chair friendly with a lift to the top floor. Its marvellous how old some of the dolls are and so well kept.
The museum opens at 11am and is free. Donations gratefully accepted.

Well presented museum with good information. We would have liked longer to read everything but we were short of time. Worth a return visit. Lots of interesting dolls in the collection upstairs.

I spent a very enjoyable hour visiting this little museum which seemed to be staffed by volunteers. I particularly enjoyed visiting the Doll Museum which had hundreds of very interesting dolls beautifully displayed with information about them. Many exhibits seemed to be donations with information about the donor too. It is free to visit and much work must go into the upkeep and displays in the museum so all credit to the people involved, I for one much appreciated their hard work.

A delightful little museum run by volunteers. We were amazed at the number, and variety, of dolls and found the staff very pleasant and helpful.
