We almost bypassed this museum thinking it would offer five minutes of trivial information. The docent on site informed us that the museum was only put together a little over a year ago. It is very small, but the curators have done a very nice job of piecing together a long historical record for this area, with the earliest exhibit providing information dating to the stone age. Museum placards on the left side of the museum tell the highlights of the local area as known from major epochs. On the right side are placards devoted to thematic material - e.g, the church, World War II, education, etc. Taking one’s time to read the provided historical record enhances the understanding of this community - where it has been, and how it evolved to the present day.

This dolls museum is in the heart of Dunster main street. Small and donations have been given by local people. It is wheel chair friendly with a lift to the top floor. Its marvellous how old some of the dolls are and so well kept. The museum opens at 11am and is free. Donations gratefully accepted.
