Very good service
Jun 2021 • Business
I get this bus most days to work from Bristol to Bath and I can say it usually takes 50 minutes journey time. Sometimes it does take longer, like during the morning peaks as the service tends to cater to the locals aswell as people travelling to and from the airport. The drivers are VERY friendly. Highly recommended to use.

Thank you for the excellent 5* review. We expect high standards from our driving team so it is great to have such positive feedback. As lockdown has lifted, we have seen an increase in traffic which can have an impact on running times during peak periods. We are monitoring this closely and hoping to revert to our 30 minute service frequency as soon as is viable.

A VERY long journey to the airport!
Feb 2020
We took this yesterday at 15.05 and finally reached Bristol airport at 16.40. Everybody seemed to think it would only take about an hour but It stopped in every town between Bath & Bristol!
It's definitely not the best or fastest way to travel to the airport and if you're in a hurry, get a taxi! The driver was, however, very cheerful and friendly throughout!

Thank you for the review. Looking at your departure and arrival time, this arrived approximately 10 minutes later than scheduled. Journey times are only just under an hour off peak (so before 7am and after 7pm). We do serve every stop along the route as we have to ensure that the service is commercially viable- therefore we aren't just an airport service but one that carries local passengers too. We are pleased to hear that you found the driver friendly - we alwasy endeavour to deliver excellent customer service.

Thank you for the review. It is disappointing to hear that you are unhappy with the service. Journey times during the day/ peak time are longer at just under 90 mins. Off peak the journey times are just under an hour which reflects the impact that traffic congestion has. We do serve every stop along the route as we carry local journey passengers to ensure that the service is commercially viable.

Great!
Jan 2020
We have used the Airdecker twice for single journeys to get to Bristol Airport from Bath bus station. The first time was very early morning and took less than an hour, the second time was mid morning so a longer journey of 1hr 20. The bus driver was polite and friendly and it was a very comfortable, convenient and a stress free way to travel.

Thank you for the 5* review! We are pleased to hear that you had a stress free journye on board the A4 service. Journey times are slightly longer during the day to account for the heavier traffic. We hope to see you again in the future.

Great Way to get to Bath
Nov 2019
Fare was reasonable especially compared to the taxi service and the bus drops a person off at the Bath Spa train station. With road works it was a hour and a half journey, but we did go through some towns along the way. The driver was very pleasant and I quite enjoyed the opportunity to see more of the surrounding countryside.

Thank you for the excellent review. Unfortunately, at times, road works or peak time traffic can slow the journey down- our drivers always do their utmost to ensure that you arrive at your end destination as swiftly as possible. It's also good to hear positive feedback about the driver. Thanks again.

Very late with no apology
Aug 2019
Our first trip to Bath and the trip from Bristol airport was good but on return was very bad. It was a Thursday afternoon and we were supposed to be picked up at 4pm. No bus at 4:30pm, bus arrived 4:55. Poor guy driving the bus told me traffic was bad. No bother with that but when I arrived at the airport we were so late we missed our flight. I was fuming and called airdecker and I did not even get an apology just an exscuse about traffic then hung up. This company in my book lacks customer care and excell in the "We dont give a damn" attitude. Do your self a favour and avoid.

Thank you for your review and sorry to hear that you experienced problems with the service.I am not sure who it was you spoke to but we of course apologise for the late running of the service. Unfortunately on the day in question there were 2 sets of roadworks along the route. One set were located on Airport Road (which are planned works for bus improvements alomg that stretch) and we were aware of; the second set were emergency works due to cabling issues in Saltford which obviously we couldn't prepare for. Those 2 factors along with accidents on other major roads pushed traffic onto the A4 contributing to horrendous traffic. Our buses suffered delays for most of the day, and we were continuly monitoring the situation and trying to prioritise buses travelling towards the airport, endeavouring to get passengers to their destination as swiftly as possible. As we have to run to a registered route and serve the registered bus stop (unlike a taxi or a car), the buses have no choice but to sit in the traffic. We did put out notifications on social media to try and warn passengers of the delays we were facing, and to recommend allowing additional time for journeys. Although we do not offer compensaion for missed flights, I would be interested to hear of your experience in more detail, including arrival time at the airport and flight departure time. Please could you email airbus@bathbuscompany.com

Reasonable service but antiquated ticket system.
Aug 2019 • Solo
Depending on the time of day and traffic conditions , this option of getting to Bristol Airport can take up to 90 minutes.

Beware: if you book a return journey and misplace your ticket you will have to purchase a new ticket, even if booked on line. Air Decker does not issue e-tickets and insists on the production of a paper ticket, so Twentieth Century! I honestly think it's a bit of a scam, and imagine a family of 5 or 6 and they can't find their return ticket.

Much better and quicker to get a train from Bath Spa to Bristol and get the Airport Flyer directly outside the terminal, very frequent service, plus e- tickets are available, so you never have to worry about losing a ticket.

Thank you for your reveiw. Tickets purchased on line are e-vouchers to be exchanged for a paper ticket on board. The current ticket machines we have are unable to scan QR codes hence why the paper ticket is issued. However we are in the process of upgrading our ticket machines and are hoping these will be implemented shortly. These will have the capability of scanning QR codes and taking contactless card payment.

Dreadful service
Apr 2019 • Business
As a staff member at bristol Airort this bus has never been on time. Most or their staff has been very rude. It's also very expensive. There was a situation where I wasn't allowed on the bus due to having a 10 pounds note they always expect you to carry change.

Sorry to hear you are diasppointed with the service. We are aware that there can be delays, especially during peak travel times due to congestion and heavy traffic. Therefore we are changing our timetable and altering running times from 1st September 2019- hopefully you will see an improvement moving forward. We offer BRS staff a significant discount on fares (not quite as low as the A1 due to the fact that we are not subsidised and are wholly commercial) but a Bristol zone ticket is less than 1/3 of the standard price. Drivers are issued with change floats but these can be quickly used up if carrying lots of passengers who have paid with large note denominations and we have previously been unable to accept contactless card payment. You will be pleased to know that drivers have been instructed NOT to refuse travel- change can be made available from our Head Office, but we will also be accepting card payments in the near future (subject to LA funding, this will be from October 2019)

Worst airport service ever.
Aug 2019 • Solo
Been travelling on this every week now for months, picking up 1.5 miles from city centre - not once has bus been on time - tonight it was over half hour late. Completely unreliable. On one occasion the next bus, which itself was 20 mins late caught up with us, as we were over 50 minutes late!

Thank you for your review, and sorry to hear hear you are unahppy with the service. Since we launched back in 2013, the traffic and congestion has continually grown which can cause us significant delays especially during peak time travel. We have just altered our timetable, which takes into account the increase in congestion. This comes into force from 1st September 2019. We ae also exending the operating hours for those who land later in the evening, so there will be a midnight departure from Bath and a 01:00 departure from Bristol Airport. Hopefully you will see an improvement in the running times and reliability

Inefficient Yet Expensive

£14 to sit on a red hot bus with no air-conditioning, only to stop in the middle of nowhere so another bus can swap with it, presumably for their convenience. Ridiculous.

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the service. Buses are not swapped over mid- journey unless there is a mechanical issue with the vehicle that is in service. Our depot is based in Keynsham (unlike First Group who's depot is in Bath city centre) so if a vehicle does have to be changed, this is done at Unity Road- the closest point to the depot which causes minimal disruption for passengers,
