A friendly, welcoming golf course where you can pay challenging golf at any level in beautiful surroundings. Reasonably priced with lovely breakfast and home made cakes where you can watch the wildlife and the resident deer family.

Super course to hone your skills
Jan 2020 • Solo
This course is a hidden gem situated in the heart of Bath. Definitely a place of paradise!

It’s a beautifully set out course which is suited not only to newcomers to golf but also experienced players, It is a relatively small course but provides a challenge to all who play and you’ll have to be on top of your game to get around anywhere near par. The holes on this 9 hole course are varied, some of them long and dog legged, some short and straight, some down hill, some up hill, all in all a course that will test you!

There is a cafe that provides a welcome break when playing a second round of 9 holes or for you to sample a great cooked breakfast before exerting yourself on the practice putting green or net before playing your first 9 holes, the choice is yours! The cafe staff are all very helpful and will give you a warm and friendly welcome.

I have just learned that this golf course and it’s facilities are under threat of closure by BANES Council as they perceive it to be under used, consultations have taken place asking people to comment on other suitable uses for the site, it’s just another cost cutting exercise from this Council in which a great facility will be lost if not enough support is shown.

Why not find out for yourself, whether you’re someone thinking of taking up the game, play occasionally or a lot, come up to Entry Hill and play a round or two, you just might find it a gem of a course like I have!

Show your support please whilst this course is still open for play, you never know, your support may make all the difference!

Great 9 hole public course
Sep 2017
Really good 9 hole course, some very short but a few more challenging. Quite hilly and greens usually well maintained.

A short little gem
May 2015 • Friends
Nine holes on a nice but short public course close to the centre of Bath. The course is in decent condition and open for anyone. The course is short but the holes are still challenging due to doglegs, sloping fairways, and strategically located trees. Greens were not the best and could do with some proper cutting. We did see a guy cutting the greens but he was using a brush cutter.

The club house is a small wooden building that does smaller meals and breakfast. You pay greenfee at the club house where you can also rent half sets for 9 and 18 holes whilst balls can be bought here also.I think the course opens at 8am in the morning but you might need to check.

Essentially, if you are a golfing fanatic visiting Bath without your set and clothes then go here and they will sort you out.

Great course for getting started!

As I'm a member of Aquaterra, get to play on this course for free! It has a mix of some long, challenging and short pitch and putt holes.
The setting is lovely and sometime you'll have the odd deer or two watching you teeing off on the 5th hole. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent (full English!). The only negatives are the quite ragged greens, a lot of mud in places and the annoying local Bathonians who feel the need to walk their dogs across the fairways even when you're playing (I don't bother shouting 'fore' if you know what I mean!)
Highly recommend!

A unique golf course
Jan 2013 • Friends
There are not many well kept and attractive golf courses where you can just turn up and play, but here is one. Entry Hill is run as a very welcoming, friendly course (and cafe) for any golfer.

The course is beautiful - with hundreds of mature trees, lush, narrow fairways and fantastic views across the city of Bath.

If you are a beginner you won't be intimidated - the holes are quite short and the atmosphere very informal. If you are a good golfer you will be challenged by the tight fairways and dangers all around the greens. Overshoot any green and you are in deep trouble! Club selection and position is the key. I bet you can't go around in par!

Afterwards, you can sit, inside or out, with a cuppa and a snack / meal, and plan the perfect round ... next time.
