About
Near the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, The Crystal Palace is one of the city’s true gems. Our menu stays true to traditional tastes, with classic English dishes and daily specials. And of course, we’ve a wide range of delectable drinks to wash it all down.

    Not Special at All
Spending a few days in Bath, we selected the Crystal Palace for lunch one day, we spotted on the "Specials Board" a Ploughman's Lunch at £15.95 and selected this as one of our meals. Well there certainly isn't anything special about this lunch, it really belongs on the "Below Average" board. OK it was fresh, but that's the only good point, the platter consisted of nice bread, 2 thin slices of cheddar cheese, a single small slice of ham, an egg sliced in two with a topping, 4 silver skin onions cut in half, a couple of teaspoons of pickle and a few pieces of finely chopped celery. Not value for money, the focus clearly being on profit, possibly in the region of £14:00. This poor ploughman went home very hungry and would probably starve if this was my only source of sustenance.

Good service and meals produced quickly
We ended up here at the end of a day in the city. The place was busy but they still managed to accommodate our group of 10. Orders taken quickly, food served without a long wait and the table service was very good. The pub itself is not as characterful as some in Bath but I don’t think it tries to be something it isn’t. We were happy with how we were served and the quality of the food and beer.

    A great into to Bath
What an introduction to Bath. Having just arrived in Bath my son and I visited The Crystal Palace for dinner and were very impressed. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Charlotte was our host and full marks to her for making sure we felt welcomed and looked after. I had the cottage pie and just appreciated having som simple food with a cold beer. It was exactly what I wanted. i would certainly recommend The Crystal Palace for lunch or dinner while taking in the beauty of the surrounds.

Great food, I would come again!
I had a medium rare steak and chips. Chips were crisp, steak was perfectly cooked. Mushroom was delicious and tomatoes tasted fresh. Washed it all down with a pint of pear cider. Price was reasonable, staff were attentive and didn't have to wait long to be served or for food. I would visit again

We came in, we asked for dinner so young boy with specs offered us a table at 8:40pm and didn’t tell us what time last order was. We ordered dinner for 5 of us worth £100.00 at 9:02pm and Kim came and chucked us out of restaurant saying we can’t have dinner. Kim was rude and not helpful or even apologetic , she has the wrong attitude to be in hospitality or any business. #boycottKim

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Terrible terrible service. We went for a family meal and asked to be seated for dinner. After placing an order over the QR menu, the restaurant manager, Kim told us they have just closed the kitchen (5minutes past the closing (21:00).

The serving and managing staff were all astonishingly poor service and dealing.

Myself, my wife and our son arrived for a snack and drinks,
I ordered 3 steaks with chips,
I didn’t mind the wait, but the steaks were awfully dry and even worse the chips were as if they were yesterday’s - frozen and cooked again, awful,
So I told the delightful waitress and she eventually brought us another cupful of the same awful chips.
I paid and we left..
I did email the pub, but no reply or offer of a sub.
Very disappointed especially at the £90 bill
I had a pint my son a soda my wife a coffee.
Sort your food out or this pub will shut down I recon.

To be honest I was surprised to see this pub only had 3.5 (at time of writing this) as majority of time me and my colleagues consider this a great pub in town to visit above others that are closer.

Yes some of the drinks ain't cheap, but you're in the centre of Bath so it's to be expected.

It's in a great spot, has a nice garden and a nice atmosphere.

Once we did have to wait 45 mins for food when on our lunch break which therefore over ran, luckily we were with the boss!

Having said that food has always been excellent.

Ate dinner there yesterday after a long (wet) day exploring Bath and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had poached cod loin whilst I went with traditional fish and chips, they were both to die for. Thus place is tucked away behind the Roman Baths although easy to find, drop in, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Large spacious pub by the Roman Baths and across from various olde shops, large garden in the back and lots of seating inside. Pub is Fullers so it's food menu is mix of pub grub and steaks. Cornish orchards is the cider on draft along with Thatchers gold.

A nice pub with friendly young staff. Good fish & chips, good beer, a cozy evening.
There was a pub quiz that evening, but you can only take part if you pay - so a reservation would have been a good idea, we got pretty much the last table.

The restaurant is located at a nice square with a 250 year old tree. The interior is nice as well and they have a beer garden in the back.
Staff was friendly though we were sometimes asked about ordering by two different waiters. Also, we had to ask for our table to be cleared so we could order dessert.
But don't let that deter you from trying this place. We had great food, perfect portions, good vegetarian options.

Cute little pub with great fish and chips and meat pies. Hannah was the sweetest waitress ever. She was so kind and helpful to two clueless tourists. Food was great, beer was cold and refreshing, but mostly, the service was superb.
