I ended up taking 2 tours while on holiday in Bath. Both first to the Cotswolds and then to Stonehenge. The drivers both times were extremely personable and informative, and excellent drivers. I really enjoyed the owners pre- recorded audio as well. We were always on time and the minbuses have plenty of space and are very comfortable. If I come again to bath I will be taking more tours with them.

Thank you joining us for 2 tours to explore the amazing area around Bath. It great to hear that you appreciated the timing and the roomy Mercedes mini-coaches along with the informative audio guide. We do hope that you join us on another occasion.

This is for the Special Access Stonehenge Tour. I did a 10 day trip to England and France and the trip was built around a couple of Mad Max Tours. I had read great reviews and the tours are only offered certain days of the week, so I had to be sure I would be in Bath at the right time! This tour included a visit to Castle Combe and Lacock where we had Scones and cream tea. The Scones were delicious! If you want to do Stonehenge this is the way to do it. Being able to walk amongst the stones with very few people around was an amazing experience. Our guide was Nick, and everything went very smoothly. I would not hesitate to recommend a MAD MAX tour to anyone visiting Bath.

What a great trip! Each stop kept getting better and better. The tour guide Gerry (sp?) was very informative, his delivery was humorous, but not over the top which we appreciated. There was enough to keep our tween interested too.
I felt the price was very good for the amount of information, comfort of the small group and cleanliness of the van. We would recommend them again and look forward to another tour with Mad Max. Thanks!

A big thank you for your kind words and I'm pleased that you found it was a good balance of information combined with time to relax in comfort Having a small minicoach does make a huge difference to the day and you feel a lot less rushed. Wishing you all the best for more shared adventures. All Good Wishes Maddy

Our guide really made our tour of the Cotswolds a fantastic experience! It was easy to see the Cotswolds in this manner for my sister & I. We couldn’t imagine having to rent a car and drive to see the towns ourselves. Stress free, super informative, and fulfills that Cotswolds craving, I highly recommend this tour group.
Jerry was chock full of historical fun facts that were just so interesting to learn. This is not a boring tour where you just hear plain old facts and stop on and off real quick and forget everything. We were shown spots that we’d never have discovered ourselves AND classic must see towns.
Also— he was very mindful of where the bathrooms were, timing of things, and ensuring that every member of the tour was entertained and looked after. Bravo!

Dear Stella. I'm so pleased you had such a lovely and memorable day with your sister. Your words " stress free and super informative", really sum it up well. A small group with an excellent guide works beautifully and keeping an eye on the small but important practical details just makes the day flow. Enjoy the rest of your travels. Maddy

We took the tour that visited Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Abbey and Tor, and Wells. Wells was to be the last visit of the day. However, when the driver/guide learned that the Bishop's Palace was to close in the afternoon, he reversed the itinerary so that we could visit Wells in the morning. This is the kind of tour I like: the guide gives us background information, takes us someplace, and leaves us to explore on our own for a set period of time. All of the locations are well worth visiting. The bus wasn't large. You don't have to worry about being in a big crowd decending on a site en masse. The tour makes it easier as a daytrip if you don't want to deal with driving yourself around. At the end of the day, we had a little bonus when the driver (a Bath native) took us to Alexandra Park, which gives a wonderful view of Bath from a high hill.

Thank you for joining us last year for Tour 3 which includes Glastonbury and Wells via Cheddar Gorge. It is great to know you appreciated our tour format of information on the bus both in printed form, with pre recorded details and our wonderful local driver guides who offer the opportunity to take part in short walking tours at each stop. As you found out, guests have plenty of time to explore each stop on their own so they may really appreciate the area and focus on what they are interested in. Although our buses are not large they are Mercedes Sprinters and all compliant with the latest omission regulations. The smaller mini coaches does allow us to take routes and roads with stunning views that would not be possible in a large bus. It also means you have a very personal experience and we are glad you appreciated the bonus of some hidden views from Alexandra Park. We do hope that you will be able to join us again some time now you have discovered the benefits of joining a tour and not doing battle with the British roads and traffic. We would be pleased to welcome you again for more exploring hidden gems.

We booked the evening Walk Among the Stones tour and are so happy we did! Andy, our driver, was so fun and he provided expert commentary on the drive to and from Stonehenge. Walking among the stones at sunset was magical. And we were there with only 20 other people. It was incredible. One of the best tours we have taken as tourists. Highly, highly recommend.

I have been on tours throughout the world, and rarely has a company excelled the way the Stonehenge/Cotswolds outing with Mad Max does. The cost point was excellent. The coach was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Our guide was professional, knowledgeable, and engaging. The group size was perfect. The timing was just right.

My adult son and I had a blast. Contact Mad Max and book this tour!

If you are looking to see some of the Cotswold's this tour is perfect. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and that combined with the other information from the tapes by Maddie was very informative. It was nice stopping at all the different places and having someone point out the interesting things to see. I would definitely recommend this group and their tours.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your tour of the Cotswolds - this is such a lovely time of year to travel in this area. I'm pleased that you mentioned the word " Stopping". We are the tour that gives you time to explore rather than a drive by! Enjoy the rest of your journey. All Good Wishes Maddy

Our driver and tour guide Jerry met us promptly and early as promised and whisked us off to Stonehenge, our first destination. He knew all the tricks to get us there early before the crowds. We had a relaxed and moving experience there, but weren’t even close to being done. Our additional three destinations were each remarkable to see and experience. Also, along the way, Jerry had much to tell us about sites we would see as we passed along the narrow country roads that a regular sized tour bus cannot take. (I feel like I now possess world class knowledge about thatched roofs!) If you’re in Bath, don’t miss going to see Stonehenge and don’t miss the Mad Max experience.

I'm so pleased you had such a memorable day! Being able to travel through narrow country lanes and not have the stress of driving is a definite plus when you're on holiday! Each one of our guides brings their commitment and enthusiasm to each tour. I must speak to Gerry about thatched roofs - always so much more to learn! All Good Wishes. Maddy

If you are looking for special access into the Stonehenge then Mad Max tours is THE one...!! First you visit Castle Combe and Lacock and after all the general visitors are gone, you are brought to the Stonehenge and can step into the inner circle. You can look/walk around, take enough pictures (without any people in it!) and/or listen to the tour guide from Stonehenge for 1hr, to just make the experience that much more better...!! The tour in general is funny, stunning views and filled with amazing anecdotes and general knowledge. I highly recommend them :)
