If you plan to stay in Bath for overnight or more, I would say a train. If just for the day, perhaps a day tour. If you are going to travel by train in U.K., download the Trainline app and utilize it to plan routing and timing.

Dear Anil Many thanks for your interest in our small group tours. It is extremely rare that we are delayed for more than 5 minutes on this tour. If, however we have experienced something very unusual we would get you to Chippenham train station during the afternoon which would get you into Bath in less than 15 minutes. The Air Decker bus leaves at 6pm and is only a few minutes walk from our drop off location. Our Tour 1 would be ideal for you - it also takes in Avebury, another lovely stone circle where you can wander amongst the stones, and two stunning historic villages which have been used as film locations for films such as Pride and Prejudice and War Horse. Many thanks for your question. The main stops on our highly acclaimed Cotswold tour are Castle Combe, Bibury, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water. These villages and small towns all have a very different feel. Some are bustling whilst others are peaceful. You'll see mellow dry stone walls in abundance, limestone tiled roofs and a great selection of cottages and grand houses and churches. We also have brief stops at other interesting places en route, that also add variety and a different historical perspective. On Tour 1 we do spend 2 hours at Stonehenge as there is a fascinating visitor centre to explore as well as the stones. At Avebury we spend about an hour and the village is interesting in its right with a cobbled high street, small manor house and thatched 17th century pub. The 3 villages on this tour offer a variety of architecture as you have a mix of limestone, old clay brickwork and timbered buildings. It's a difficult choice! Hello Anne Thanks for your question. Our tour to Stonehenge, Avebury and stunning villages runs every day. Tours to the Cotswolds run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and those to Wells Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge run on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Sundays. We have a shorter day tour ( 11am to 5.30pm) that includes Avebury stone circles and Cotswold villages which operates on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Hope that isn't too confusing.
