We were walking along the Avon river and we reached the Pulteney Princess just on time for the 3:40 p.m. trip. There was noone else there, so it turned to be a private one-hour trip to Bathampton Mill and back for my wife and me at the very reasonable price of 8 pound per person. We had a nice chat... More

Caught the last boat taxi of the day into Bath from the Bathampton Mill pub, didn't expect too much from the trip, we were simply happy to see a different view of Bath. The boat was rather busy which was a good sign, good value at £5 each, some small snippets of info about the area, just the right amount... More

We went on a wet day and this particular boat is covered but with lots of windows so you can see most things as you go by. Commentary on the return trip was good and both captain and guide picked out the different wildlife. Good value. A pleasant trip.

The trip from Bath to Bathampton and back took an hour. It was a nice break from walking around the city on a hot day, but there wasn't much to see. We just saw people's back gardens, a few bridges, and people rowing. There was no commentary on the way there, but the tour guide did talk to us about... More

We expected a full commentary boat trip, running along the backs of interesting buildings with some history. However, there was very little commentary, which took place mainly on the way back. Views were mostly of people's gardens. Staff were friendly and efficient. It wasn't what we expected at all, though if you need a break from the hubbub, I guess... More

Very nice trip, apart from the the awful grannie and her granddaughter in front of us, we enjoyed the scenery and the commentary on the return journey.

Good sized boat with upper and lower deck seating. Friendly staff and interesting commentary. Trip last about an hour and is a welcome relaxation after a busy day on foot around the attractions of Bath. Soft drinks available. Runs form by Pulteney Bridge up to Bathampton.

Good value - interesting commentary - seats lacking a bit of leg room! £4 for a one way trip... you would find it hard to get better value - it costs more that that to park the car! Well worth taking the trip!

My husband and I did this trip late afternoon and throughly enjoyed the hour. The river is very pretty and we saw three kingfishers. There is not a lot of commentary but we did not mind this. Hot and cold drinks as well as a beer or glass of wine is available to purchase. If you have a spare hour... More

We decided to take a trip down the river whilst staying in Bath. The trip lasts for 1 hour, from Bath to Bathampton. You are able to depart the boat in Bathampton and catch a later turn if you so desire. The trip down to Bathampton had a no commentary and you could just take in the trip down the... More
