Found this small museum tucked away by the entrance to the main Post Office. Down a flight of stairs to a small but very interesting museum. It is one of these places where you learn lots of history about something you know very little. Only very small and would take you about an hour and a half to look round.... More

This is the place to go. My hairs have still not sat down after the visit. you must have gone literally postal if you don't feel a sense of emotion and bliss being here.

This is situated inside the Post Office in the centre of Bath, but underneath the main office down stairs and is a fascinating collection of everything to do with mail services, from the first stamps, an early device to perforate sheets of stamps, and some old-style small posting boxes which were once inset into the walls of buildings. There is a... This is not beyond history - a place that even that last generation may get many surprises to see how the postal world used to work in the world and in UK in particular. Pls take children along - to show them what a stamp is or was, what a post man looked liked or what was called a post... More

The use of audio visual effects brings the displays to life. Staffed by enthusiastic volunteers who are able to give you much more information about the artifacts. I learnt, amongst other things, that the coach delivering the post used its post horn to signal instructions, such as get out of the way!! Also why post boxes no longer need flaps... More

I visited the museum a couple of weeks ago with my wife. The lady at the reception was extremely nice and seemed genuinely happy to have tourists visiting. The museum itself is quite small however it has a lot of information and memorabilia. Being a small museum does not mean that is less interesting than a big one, further, that... More

We are very interested in the subject of postal history, and were therefore looking forward to visiting this attraction in the beautiful city of Bath. Although the museum is packed full of interesting artifacts and interpretation of the connections that bath has to the history of the postal service in this country, the space it has to represent this history... We had time to spare and saw this on the map, and thought we'd check it out; in retrospect, we wish we'd done something else. It is basically a basement, inside a post office Calling it a "museum" is a bit...of an over-exaggeration? I suppose it is kind of interesting - but it was not worth the £3.50 each we... More
