We have done a lot of walking tours around the world, this tour is in the top 10. It's 2 hours of leisurely walking. The guides are well informed and great at sharing their love of the city. It's totally free no tips accepted, these guides are doing this on a purely voluntary basis, that should give you a good... More

If you don't do anything else, set aside 2hrs to go on one of these free, yes free, guide led tours. Our guide, Audrey, was informative with loads of anecdotes to keep the tour light hearted. Many of the facts and information you'd never get from a written guide.

Michael was an excellent tour guide! I've always wanted to visit Bath, and this was an easy and fun way to see much of the city, and learn about some of the history. I was truly impressed by the commitment of the guide and could tell his genuine enthusiasm for the city. I highly recommend this tour!

My partner and I were having lunch in Bath when we decided we'd take a look at trip advisor to see if there was anything to do to fill a couple of hours. We stumbled upon the Mayor's guides and because of the fabulous reviews (and the fact that it's free) we decided to give it a go. John was... More

We were taken around Bath by the wonderful Ken, who kept us entertained and informed for over two hours. Such interesting back stories to the development of the city itself, the architecture, the famous people who lived there and it's history. I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who visits Bath.

Just returned from a tour led by Alison which was brilliant. Comprehensive and engaging with lots of great little anecdotes about the history of Bath. The walk and the commentary was at a perfect pace and we would highly recommend this completely free activity to anyone visiting bath!

A great walk around historic Bath with an extremely knowledgeable guide (Roger), the walk itself takes you on an approx 3 mile route around, taking in a number of key attractions, Pulteney Bridge and Weir, the Rugby ground, Royal Crescent and more. There were about 12 of us with our guide and probably 3 other groups of similar sizes went... More

We arrived for the 10:30 trip to find a large group waiting, fortunately the guides then split us into groups of less than 15, we were led by Adrian who is born to guide, he took us around the highlights of central Bath up and down many roads and paths that I would not have found myself, covering the history,... What a fabulous tour this is! Our guide was knowledgeable and told us many little quirky facts about Bath as well as lots of history (window tax anyone?). The tour is supposed to take 2 hours but lasted 2 1/2. We walked all over but it wasn't a hard walk. It rained a little but there were places to shelter... More

We arrived here for a brief stay, and read great reviews about the tours. After a morning walking through the city with our guide, we felt that the history and the geography of Bath fell into place. We also appreciated the beauty of Bath more fully, and decided we should come back. If you can only do a couple of... More
