Designed by John Wood II in 1769, these stately and ornate public rooms were used for evening "soirees" during the 18th century, for dancing, music, card-playing and tea-drinking. Today the Assembly Rooms may be hired for a range of events such as weddings, dinners, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, concerts and parties. The world renowned Fashion Museum is situated on the lower ground floor and is open 363 days a year.

Took 3 times to get in, but was worth it. For anyone who likes the Regency period, this is a must. The rooms are amazing! Beautifully restored. The guidebook (purchased in the gift shop) is worth it, too.

Made a special visit hoping to see the assembly rooms on Saturday afternoon, to find that they were closed to the public for a private function. It was quite a way from the main centre of Bath, the only up side was that having struggled...More

Thankfully the friend I was visiting took me to the Assembly rooms. You truly feel like you are stepping back in time when you walk into these rooms, I was felling very under dressed in my casual travel clothes. The chandeliers are so elegant, fitting...More

These are some of the most beautiful rooms I have ever seen. As a Jane Austen fan I was very excited to visit the rooms she had written about in her novels. They are just stunning. We spent a good half an hour in one,...More

A great place to hold an event; I was fortunate to attend one and the atmosphere was superb. The building itself is steeped in history and has great features and is well worth a visit if you can fit it in.

Sharing with the Fashion Museum made this a natural progression on our tour. The chandeliers were enough to keep me occupied while endeavouring to capture the perfect photo.

Unfortunately, the assembly rooms were closed due to a private function so we were unable to go inside. Check the website to see if it will be open before planning a trip as it's very unimpressive from the outside.

These are near the Crescent and it's also where the Fashion Museum is located. You don't need to pay to view the Assembly Rooms and they are very impressive, so definitely worth popping in to see.

This attraction is exactly what the name suggests, a set of rooms where people have in the past, and still do today, assemble and associate. But what that simple name can't convey is how Grand the rooms are. They are, simply, magnificent. Great interior spaces,...More

If you only have a few minutes stop in here. Only a few rooms to look at but it is free. Very nice chandeliers. If you want to see the costume collection, there is a fee for that.
