I stayed at this hotel with 2 friends and it was beautiful, steeped in history and really friendly staff, I can honestly say that Shrewsbury is the cleanest most beautiful place I have ever visited with the exception being Sorrento in Italy. The people are so polite and there are lots of places to see and things to do, there are flowers Everywhere and a real sense of pride in their home town. I can’t wait to go back to this enchanting Place. No wonder it’s been voted The third best place to live in the uk xx

Lovely large wood panelled room with large fireplace. Excellent breakfast, choice of cereals, juices, fantastic freshly cooked croissants, fresh fruit, choice of cooked breakfast, haddock and poached egg was perfect. Very friendly accommodating lady made everyone feel very welcome. I would have breakfast there again

The hotel is in a great location, in the heart of Shrewsbury Town yet away from the hustle and bustle. We were greeted by reception staff who were friendly, professional and efficient. They explained about hotel procedures, where different bars and restaurants were etc and took car details for the concierge to park our car in the hotel car park. We had been upgraded to the Queen Elizabeth Suite. First impressions of the hotel were promising . It is a really old building and it's character was within keeping. We were shown to our room by staff. Our room was lovely - decor a little tired but the bathroom had been refurbished to excellent standards. Breakfast was excellent as were the waiting staff. There is plenty of choice of both hot and cold food options. In the early hours of the first morning we were awoken by the rumbling of delivery carts being wheeled over the cobbles , this lasted for approximately 20 minutes- very annoying!!! Our car was returned to the front of the hotel at 11.00am which we had arranged with front of house staff- this is also checkout time. Shrewsbury is a lovely place to visit and I'm sure we will return - to the same hotel.

Awfully ,terible rooms that are close to dangerous ,poorly maintained, dirty,no ventilation, church bells that ring on the hour all night very poor quality of room more like a heroin addicts living room than a hotel and as for the valet parking if you have an ounce of respect for your car DON'T use this service as they damaged my car and showed no regard for my vehicle as they parked it under scaffolding and the rooms stink of sewage and showers flood etc

Stopped in here for a drink, very quiet which is ok if you've been fighting with the masses in the town centre. Drinks are not cheap so somewhere you got to want to visit
