Shropshire Archives is a treasure trove of information for any genealogist. The only drawback is the battle with Shropshire Council trying to reduce its opening hours. So be sure to check these out before your visit so you make the most of your visit.

The quantity and quality of Shropshire information, both in breadth and depth, is quite stunning. The staff could not be more helpful, both with beginners and with in-depth researchers.A truly wonderful facility.

It took a couple of hours, but now she knows more about her family. Thank you so much as her Dad... More

We had a lot of help from friendly staff but we had not brought enough information to go ahead. Best to phone in advance and take required identification. Lots of interesting books to browse for ages !

Check the opening times before you go as it isn't open everyday to the public, but if you have specific enquiries about historic Shropshire the folks here are ready and willing to help

There is a real presence in this place, a real sense of being surrounded by a cloud of saints, a tranquillity that is so... More
