My ten year old grandson and myself had a wonderful visit to the owls and birds of prey this morning.
It was hugely entertaining, he got to hold three very different birds and found out about them. He loved the eagle owl the best. Can't recommend this highly enough.

My fiancé and I were given a voucher for 'Hawks on Walks' for Christmas. We expected to be herded in a grip but instead were the only ones! We wandered through the woods while the harris hawk flew from our gloves to the trees and back again. Once we were back at Battlefield there were numbers other birds to look at which was lovely. Well worth a visit. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Our daughter gifted this to us - and we loved every minute! Getting up close and personal with Bud, a Harris Hawk, was so special. I had been a little nervous about meeting these birds of prey, but Mark is a careful and expert handler and immediately put us at our ease so that we could really enjoy our walk with a hawk. A lovely way to get a new perspective on our beautiful Shropshire countryside accompanied and learn a lot about the ancient art of falconry.

Had a really nice walk with Mark, bought as a Christmas present from my wife - very informative, interesting and knowledgable, we learned a lot about and the Estates as well as the majestic hawk, Oscar! Just a lovely, memorable way to spend a couple of hours - highly recommended.

Based behind Battlefield Food Shop, which has toilets and a cafe, the Falconary centre has a range of hawks and owls. A Hawk walk is an excellent way to get up close with your bird. Remember your camera for the action pictures. The walk takes about 3/4 hour and my experience was more informative than I had expected. Would recommend this as an experience made all the better by friendly knowledgable staff. Walking shoes/wellies needed.

Took my son here as his birthday gift and he was very excited about the idea. He thoroughly enjoyed the handling session with the owls (babies were there at the time as an added bonus) and was even more impressed by the walk with the harris hawks. This was my second visit and not likely to be my last.

I was given a voucher for my hawk walk as a birthday gift. From the time I booked the walk on the phone untill the end of the walk I found all the staff to be very professional and knowledgeable. Mark is a really nice chap and you can tell he has a passion for what he does. We started by having a look around the center at all the birds, then we hopped in marks land rover to be taken to an area of woodland were the walk was to take place. On the way Mark answered all the questions I had about the estate and how it was run. The walk itself was great. We walked through the woodland as the hawk flew around us (very close sometimes) I was wearing a gauntlet that Mark placed meat into for the hawk to land on my hand. This was a great experience and something I will definitely do again.

If you don't do anything else in Britain - make sure you do this! It was a brilliant experience and definitely the highlight of our trip from Australia. Staff were friendly, very knowledgable and able to accommodate slow walkers with arthritis. Walking through the forest area was most enjoyable and added to a relaxing time.
We also learned about the history of the area and the battle fought ins area. There was a re-enactment group there when we visited and this also added to the day.
There is a great farm shop with lots of goodies including postcards and a cafe for coffee and scones and an information centre.
Spend the day here - it is well worth it.

We wanted to do something different at the weekend and came across the Bird of Prey experience at Battlefield Falconry Centre. What a great couple of hours we had!! First hour flying a Harris Hawk (Khan) under the supervision of falconer Mark, and super-energetic dogs Tilly and Lucy! Second hour in the classroom with three different owls from the centre and the chance to find out loads about birds of prey from the knowledgable staff. Not cheap, but just two of us on the Hawk Walk with Mark (not a group like other similar experiences we researched) and in the class room with owls. You'll have to book ahead it's so popular. Worth it, impressive to see up close the agile hawk glide down and land on your arm to take the food.
