Wow - Now this is a great place for walkers - a tuff walk but well worth it at the top.
nothing else around no cafe or toilets its just you and the open air.

Great circular walk with a good climb

Nearby on street parking (or paid parking (in Church Stretton). A variety of routes up the hill, wondering over the summit, and to return around either side. If you want a serious challenge continue on to The Lawley.

Beware though, the nearest refreshments and facilities are in the town.

Went solo, up and over the peak. Nice steady climb and loads of different routes, beautiful scenery throughout I can't wait to go back.

Lovely climb and wonderful views

A relatively short steep climb from the A49 but worth it for the wonderful views over South Shropshire. There is a closer and shorter place to park for those not wishing to do the whole climb.

Sense of achievement

Walked to the peak of Caer Caradoc Hill and whilst challenging in places well worth the effort the views are spectacular on a clear day you can see for miles.

Stunning views and a walk back in time
May 2018 • Couples
Leave the car in Cardington [without obstructing or annoying the locals] and walk up the track and then turn right onto the footpath that takes you up this volcanic hill to the Iron Age fort on the top. It is a good walk for the cardio-vascular system but not arduous and follows in the footsteps of the fort creators. It takes only a little imagination to visualise those early Britons labouring with their materials up the slopes to build the fortifications of their homes and security. What easy times we now live in.
The views from the top are stunning throughout 360 degrees.
Kissed by 3,000 sunsets, this fort is believed by some to be the site of Caractacus' last stand against the Romans in 50AD. Caer Caradoc is just another little gemstone in the mantle of Shropshire's outstanding landscape, architectural and industrial heritage.

One of the best of the South Shropshire hills with ancient hill fort site and extensive views, choice of moderate walk or one more challenging subject to ability.

A lovely if rather challenging walk - and a hill fort too!
Jul 2017 • Couples
Caer Caradoc is the imposing hill you see from the Long Mynd. To walkers like ourselves it cries out to be walked. The initial ascent was a bit tough, but the hill fort and views were amazing. The circular walk also takes in WIllstone Hill, and we took a short detour to see Comley Quarry nature reserve. Smashing walk on a clear day
