Loved the building and great selection of beers but the prices for spirits are eye watering, over £16 for two double vodkas and cokes

Beer and bar staff on top form as ever so why not a top rating this time……well dust for one thing. When you put your coat down and then pick it up to find it covered in dust somethings not as it should be. Also having gone off to a football match at 2 then back at six to find the same seats we had earlier with the table still having some waste paper left behind at the first visit I was wondering if maybe some staff missing. Maybe petrol issues causing staff problems but the dust just shouldn’t be on those window shelves whatever.

Great bar with excellent selection of beers in an interesting building. Staff friendly. Building looks like they have renovated the old waiting room on the platform. Brew their own beer. Definitely worth a visit.

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to jump the train down from Liverpool to Sheffield for a three night stay in the steel city and after our train journey and before booking into the hotel we were stopping in we payed a visit to Sheffield Tap on Platform 1B.
Housed in a beautiful Grade II listed building, a former station refreshments room built in 1904 ,a great example of Edwardian architecture.
I loved the interior, multi roomed ,dark wood features, an impressive serving bar, brew vats prominently on display in the back room, lovely high ceilings ,pubby decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their courtyard out back, its just a wonderful pub ,a great introduction to the city of Sheffield.
We were here on a Monday early afternoon, we had a study of their very impressive range of beers and we opted to have Thornbridge Brewery Jaipur ,these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and looked forward to our break in Sheffield while sipping our ales.
This ipa is a wonderful ale,its the flagship beer of Thornbridge Brewery, such a well crafted ale bursting with taste, on a really hot afternoon a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and in such a unique location.
We really enjoyed our ipa's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Sheffield Tap we were totally impressed.
The Sheffield Tap is easy to locate on Platform 1B in Sheffield Railway Station.
Opening hours are;
Monday,Midday till 9pm.
Tuesday to Thursday, Midday till 10pm.
Friday & Saturday, 11am till 11pm.
Sunday, Midday till 10pm.
A wonderful pub,if you're in Sheffield Railway Station most definitely well worth checking out.

Sheffield Tap is a fantastic World beer freehouse in Sheffield train station that offers a great range of cask and keg beers.
Housed in a grade-II listed building on platform 1B the Sheffield Tap is a beer drinker's paradise with a two roomed interior with many original features and excellent seating options throughout the bar and a superb range of cask and keg beers.
We visited here on a three day trip to Sheffield to visit there many cask and craft beer bars and the Sheffield Tap was the first bar we visited after we got off the train from Liverpool.
We have visited a few train station pubs and bars in the UK and Europe but this was one of the best ones we have ever visited.
Housed in a former Edwardian refreshments room which was built in 1904'Sheffield Tap is a joy to go to and when we visited we took a seat in the main bar area and ordered a few beer's which where a few glasses of Thornbridge brewery Jaipur which were perfectly served and priced.
Sheffield Tap is a must go destination for anyone who has an interest in cask ale's and is very easy to find just head to platform 1B Sheaf street.(This is my first review of the Sheffield Tap).

Another visit to this excellent pub, housed within the former Edwardian Refreshment Room & Dining Rooms of Sheffield Station, with so much beautiful workmanship to enjoy and appreciate. I would love to travel back in a time machine to see the ornate plaster ceilings and glazed tiles being constructed and to watch the diners in the beautiful surroundings all those years ago. There were no vegan friendly cask beers available on our visit but the Moor Nor' Top on keg was pretty good.

Restored as at the time, this beautiful bar offers an extensive selection of beers. It's really worth a visit to enjoy the decor and why not have a beer. The establishment offers several lounges.

What a little gem!
Located in Sheffield station, the Sheffield Tap is well worth visiting, especially if you have a little time to kill while waiting for your connecting train. Beers and lagers are all none mainstream plus they are giving full table service which is a real nice touch given the current circumstances. I was served by the very knowledgable Liz who made me feel welcome and at home.
