Another free attraction in Sheffield (there are lots here). There were some art exhibitions on during our visit but we were not very impressed with what we saw. Lots of space. If you don’t appreciate art I would give it a miss there are better places to visit here

This art gallery was inaugurated at the beginning of the 21st century. It houses exhibits of steel and silver utensils built in the city, minerals, and some temporary exhibits. It is close to the train station and there is also access from Winter Gardens. Admission is free.

We didn't know this place existed but found the entrance from the Winter Gardens. There are several rooms set up with different exhibitions. Today we saw a Ruskin collection and paintings from Chatsworth as two of the exhibitions. There was also another one about Sheffield's heritage and industry. It didn't take us long but there some interesting pieces AND it was free admission although you can make donations. …

The steel exhibition is excellent and free. Many visiting excellent exhibitions, many are free, Plus some craft shops and a great modern coffee shop.

I have to say while there's several good sized galleries here but I was a little underwhelmed by the quality of it, it's busy, noisy and I didn't really enjoy the madness and chaos of it all. I've always preferred art exhibitions to be a quiet and relaxed atmosphere and this is definitely not that. It took me an hour to make my way around the madness, I'm not sure I'd do it again. …
