Two of us visited to attend a conference. After the conference we took the opportunity to watch The British Judo Closed Championship. VERY impressive! The EIS is also impressive. The facilities were expansive and very comprehensive. The quality of decoration is top class and very modern. Everywhere seemed spotlessly clean. We had a light meal in the canteen/restaurant and it was okay. It was canteen rather than restaurant and was value for money. My only negative comment concerns the bottom step of the mobile tiered viewing steps in the main hall/gymnasium. The bottom step (only) has a 20cm or so uplift to prevent items rolling off onto the walkway, I presume! Because I wear varifocals the uplift was not in my line of sight and I went tumbling over the uplift into the seating area. The loss of dignity was worse than the bruising but, trust me, it hurt! I've no idea what purpose that wooden lip serves at all! Anyway, the Institute is superb and is a wonderful venue.

An exciting sports day for children and young people of Sheffield Children's Hospital rheumatology team. The Athletics Arena was stunning and everyone was inspired to run and join in the various games.

We are absolutely loving this venue. We have fell in love with the sharks - such a good family night out. the staff are amazing, the coffee is nice, it does need a vegi option for food though toilets are clean we don't pay for parking as I think £5 to park is ridiculous esp when im a SIV member and get no discount. Manchester giants don't charge for parking

This facility is fantastic, great to see an investment in sport, used for a wide variety of sporting events . Viewing is great with tired seating. On big event days, you do get hit with an additional parking charge. Cafeteria isn't great, limited choice of food, often a challenge to find something healthy.
