We both were very, very impressed with the choice of (unusual but really credible) ice cream flavours offered and the quality was beyond doubt one of the best artisan ice cream varieties we have tried and we do track down artisan ice cream flavours on our extensive travels within the UK and abroad. One very fatal flaw though, was that the young counter team staff urgently need to be trained in how to serve the ice cream when food intolerance is important….using “one scoop for all flavours” is NOT the way forward. Yes, they were short staffed but food intolerance is a very important consideration when serving customers…..is sterilisation enough to remove gluten ? To their credit though, they did have a clearly displayed and comprehensive list of flavour choices suitable for Gluten intolerance customers. Seek out but proceed with caution…….

Where else are you able to buy Bakewell Tart flavoured ice cream? With really not bad coffee. And the opportunity to buy locally produced meats and veg. And big tubs of ice cream to take home. And gaze out at gorgeous Derbyshire countryside, even as Storm Ellen is blowing. We're only 15 minutes drive from this little dairy farm and we're lucky we can buy its produce in our local Co-op. Well worth a visit if you happen to be near Dungworth. Yes, that is where it is. And long may it flourish.

By luck came across Our Cow Molly when driving around. The busy car park was a sign this was a popular venue and for good reason. Had the Cora's chaos, which was a great choice and great value.

Have been a massive fan our cow Molly's before today and I understand times are difficult at the moment but having to travel 45 mins to get there and then having to queue over 39 minutes only to be told after we got served that the toilet facilities were staff only is disgusting, having a medical.condition where I need the toilet, when i asked i was told to drive back to the village and use the pub toilets. Such bad customer service there is no mention on website that the toilets arnt available.

Visited with my young children (aged 1 and 3) on a sunny day. Very long queue for ice cream.
I didn't get to taste the ice cream as was put off by a lady residing in a house on the farm (?? Owner) who told me off for not being able to control my kids and get them to stand within the barrier lines. She went into tell me that her children were very well behaved and would not do such a thing.
Did not enjoy the experience

Disappointed i took my wife and 2 daughters for an icecream here after reading reviews. It was a warm day but not hot, As soon as we walked out of the door the icecream was flowing like a river off our cones we didnt get time to lick the sides to stop it unfortunately the icecream is not cold enough i would hate to go on a hot day you would have seconds to lick it before its lost down your hand and onto the floor. Overall very messy experience we wont be returning.

We've been meaning to visit Our Cow Molly for a while because I absolutely love ice-cream. We finally went because they have one of the elephants there for Herd of Sheffield and we want to see them all! First of all I found it disappointing that they had their elephant surrounded by a fence, so you couldn't get close to it. This is the only elephant on the Herd that we've seen (so far) to have a fence around it. Our little boy was really disappointed that he couldn't touch it like all the others.

Secondly, there really isn't a great deal to see here. There was a small shed with a few calves in it. They seem to imply that you go there to see a working farm, but I'm not sure how. There's no obvious place to go to see the farm at work and there's no staff around or signage directing you where to go to see the working farm. Essentially it's someone's house with a ice-cream hut in front of it.

Next the ice-cream. As I said, I love ice-cream and I love ice-cream sundaes - not enough places do them. The website mentions that they serve ice-cream sundaes. Maybe I missed something, but I couldn't see any menu detailing what ice-cream sundaes they sell, which was disappointing. The website also details some quite interesting flavours - like snickers, Ferrero rocher and cherry bakewell. Well when we visited, none of these more interesting flavours were available. All the ice-cream flavours on offer were pretty standard, things like chocolate, strawberry, mint choc chip, etc. The ice-cream was pretty good, but nothing amazing because it just isn't different enough to other good quality ice-cream.

Also, the girl serving the ice-cream could do with some customer service training. She was surly and uncommunicative. I've experienced this before at the Stannington Carnival - we were served at the Our Cow Molly stand by a woman who was being outright rude to almost every customer. You can see this rudeness in the responses to some of the more negative reviews on Trip Advisor.

I hate to sound so negative about it, but I think it's a real shame that so many things are letting this place down because it has so much potential. Improve the variety of flavours on offer, have a sundae menu, do farm tours and improve the customer service and they could be sitting on a gold mine. They should maybe visit the magnificent Nardini's to see how ice cream should really be done! Visit if you are passing, but it's not worth making a special trip.

Hello, the elephant is made of broken CD's and they are razor sharp so the Sheffield Children's Hospital whose elephant it is put the fence around it, sorry if its not immediately obvious why the fence is up. If your comparing us to cannon hall farm or chatsworth than your right there's not much to see because we are a real working dairy farm rather than a petting zoo of show farm on the plus side it doesn't cost you anything to visit our animals, the cows and sheep are in the fields next to the car park, we are a working farm in the sense that there's no guided tours etc as we are all busy working on the farm, sorry if you thought that implied you could watch us working, having said that we have an annual open day each year on the national Open Farm Sunday day in June where full farm tours take place all day long & there lots of activities, tractor rides Uni of Sheffield soil scientists etc this is a free event on our farm but others do charge. I think you sum up what we are well, its our family home & farm with a small ice cream parlour and the animals you'd expect to see on a dairy farm, I can understand how some folk would want more from visiting a farm & Cannon Hall Farm or Chatsworth Farm will gladly charge you to see animals penned up that should probably have the freedom to be in the fields like ours. We make 40 different flavours of ice cream & rotate them in to 16 spaces to scoop, I'm sorry non of the 16 were what you were looking for when you visited. There's a poster on the wall for ice cream Sundays with an photo of what we offer. For most of the staff working for us is their very first job, so its a steep learning curve & customer service is something we are teaching them all, its great to be able to employ so many local youngsters, please be assured your feedback will be shown to those in question & will help to form a constructive conversation on that subject.

I was expecting great things from Our Cow Molly. The ice cream is fab, and the milk fine, and I've heard people say how good it is. However, we found it a very ordinary experience. I went with my sister and her toddler, and there was surprisingly little to hook his interest by way of amusements, and few animals to see. A damp day didn't help, to be fair. The views back to Sheffield would be lovely on a fine one. Such a shame, as I'd gone with great expectations. Not much larks here, Pip.

Hello James, I really sorry to see you've given us a poor review especially much of it based on the weather we obviously cant do anything about it being a damp day when you visited, or that the weather stopped you enjoying the lovely views. We are a dairy farm as listed on trip adviser, we have cows & calves you wouldn't expect to see anything more than that on a dairy farm so I'm not sure how you can be disappointed when you were able to see everything that you would expect to find on an ordinary dairy farm. We don't promote that we have any amusements, although we do have a children's play area with tire swings a slide rickety bridge etc & usually between that & the newborn calf enclosure there is enough to hook the children's interest. Please visit us on a sunny day & see if you feel different. Kind Regards Eddie.

We read the reviews and decided to go for something different on a boring Sunday afternoon.
The ice cream palour is a little hut, the play area is no existent and the ice cream was terrible.
My 6 year old daughter was all excited to go and to say she was disappointed when we got there was an understatement... A waste of a 45 minute drive

The ice cream parlour is in a stone building & the play area is 7 foot high & at the side of the ice cream parlour building, are you sure you are reviewing the right place ?
