Had a great time :)
Sep 2020 • Family
They seem to take Covid very seriously and have made a massive effort to keep the hygiene to an excellent standard. My now 1 year old loves it here. I would recommend driving rather than walking - surrounding area isn't the nicest.

Overhead the owner being very pleasant/helpful to a Mum in front of me who'd forgotten their mask - able to buy one for £1. Would say they could ask the age of your child in a somewhat nicer way "When is his birthday?" would be nicer maybe than "When is he one?" - something about the tone made me feel like they didn't believe me.

Only had a drink but the cafe staff member was lovely and my little guy loves waving at her. Price goes up a good bit when they're over 1 - would recommend visiting lots whilst it's cheaper :)

Really glad i came across this Play Arena for my 3 year old daughter. She loved it that much shes asks to go back every 5minutes. Plenty of things for kids and very safe. All staff was lovely and friendly. We will be back. Thankyou to all staff for keeping it all clean and safe for us to still enjoy going out for little ones xx

Lucky to have this on our doorstep

My 5y old boy really loves this place. There are lots of things for him to do, and the owners have clearly worked hard to ensure that he and others can play safely. The staff are friendly and approachable, and the food and drink offer is well above what I would expect from a soft play centre

DO NOT BOOK PARTIES HERE! DO NOT PLAY HERE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Feb 2020 • Friends
I usually avoid the play arena for a multitude of reasons. The unprofessional staff, the tired equipment, the darkly lit dangerous play area. Etc. However I was invited to my sons friends party and he desperately wanted to go.

The party host was an extremely rude, obnoxious young girl. Who spoke to the group aggressively. And at one point even shouted at the owner across the till area. The play centre was dark, and damp. It was difficult to see where my child was. Even though I was attempting to follow his movements. The place is very dirty and filthy. My biggest issue is the party itself. There was at least 20.children. The seats were.not organised. The party host screamed at the adults to.get out of the room. And the food was dire! My sympathies went out to the mother who had paid for this. Two tiny pizzas came out. Each normal sized slice had been split into a third!!!!! Two tiny bowls of chips- I would probaly serve for 4 children not 20! Absolutely. Manky sandwiches which were cut into triangles and then cut again. And a small bowl of cheap crisps. I cut see the look of shock on the mothers face. And I noticed she had some.docussion with the host. How can an organisation justify that as party food? How can they even charge the ridiculous amounts that they do? The room.was.given to the group for 30.mins..and the measly portions of icecream was then served outside of the room!
Parents please take your money elsewhere. I have been to some exceptional places. I have been to a party held at the big apple, the group was given their own brightly lit room.
It was filled with balloons.the tables were spacious..and food was plentiful. All children played for well over three hours. Parents could pop in and out of t he room the wholetime. And some of the little ones.even took a nap there!!!! Play arena is an embarrassment..

The birthday boy hurt his lip,.first aid was slow and shoddy. And the party host needs to find a new job. Please even if you are desperate do not go here.

Expensive and inedible food
Feb 2020 • Family
The play centre itself is good for older children. It could be a fantastic welcoming place to visit but the place was freezing cold with no heating in the seated areas. The food and drinks are expensive (£3 for a small flat white coffee). The food was inedible. The chips tasted as if they had been reheated a few times or the fat was old, not sure which but when our kids won’t eat chips they’ve got to be bad. The tomato pasted was simply cheap pasta with tinned tomato sauce. No flavour whatsoever. The jacket potato was tiny for £4. The chicken and bacon salad was simply a bowl of iceberg lettuce with a bit of chicken and bacon, no mixed leaves, no rocket etc. For £7 it was awful. The staff had forgotten how to smile, I didn’t see one of them look like they were enjoying themselves, including the manager. If we return we’ll eat elsewhere. I’m not paying those prices for inedible rubbish again.

First Aid is extremely questionable
Feb 2020 • Friends
Just been to yet another painful party at this heartless venue ,(oh joy!!?)..but the kids were all having a lovely time playing however once again the manager of Play Arena continues to be rude, unprofessional & aggressive and her first aid policy is somewhat substandard I feel !! In a place that is bound to have many accidents, bumps, bruises due to the nature of the place, as parents we expect these things to happen. However what I dont expect is when I ask for a cold compress for my child's bumped head that I be given a bag of blue slush puppy and told they dont have the traditional cold compresses. When I question the member of staff about this, the manager did what she always does to paying customers who ask something she doesnt like the sound of (ive witnessed this numerous times over the years) and she shouted at me across the cafe bar that she has sought advice from Environmental Health that the use of slush puppy compresses is fine. Her tone was aggressive, zero concern for my child and then turned her back on me! I didnt pursue this with her as my child was crying and needed my attention! But enough is enough....she really should NOT be managing Play Arena. My advice to anyone....do not go to this softplay centre -there are plenty better friendlier ones in Sheffield. And definately do not waste good money on childrens parties here. The party food is always late, substandard and overpriced. But mainly my advice is just dont go here to line the pocket of a ruthless rude aggressive woman who treats both her staff and customers appaulingly and has no concern whatsoever for the children who play there. She is a disgrace!
