We had tickets for the Bodyguard musical & the sound & lighting effects were spectacular. Great atmosphere. Toilets clean & seating comfortable. We used the disabled facilities & were assisted by well intentioned staff members. Thank you all.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 11, 2023

- tinylassSheffield, United Kingdom6,167 contributionsLovely theatreWe visited for a ballet. We were in 2 end seats on row B in the circle and the seats were excellent. The leg room is good compared to some theatres and the seats were comfy. We could see the performance well, just missing a tiny bit off one side when they were close to the edge. I do not choose the front row on the circle as I cannot see clearly over the ledge on the front; I am 5 foot 2 and the ledge is quite high which would restrict my view. A very impressive theatre with good sound.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 29, 2024
- MR19702602Staffordshire, United Kingdom1,455 contributionsShame the audience couldn’t behave!Went to the lady night of the now that’s what you call a musical which was fabulous. The audience however some up on the balcony on the first half started arguing & the show had to stop. After about 15 mins it’s started again without incident again The theatre need to man the doors into the seats as the amount of people who were in the wrong seats was amazing.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 15, 2024

I waited 2 years to see heathers for this disappointment…
I had tickets to go see Heathers today at 3pm at 2 I was stuck in traffic on the M1 because there had been an accident. So, I rang the theatre telling them I might be late and asked if we would still be allowed in. They said yes don’t worry they have a late comers policy. So myself and my mum rushed to get there found a car park and then ran up 9 flights of stairs to be told on the door with 5 minutes to spare that it had been cancelled. No email. Nothing to let us know that our 1 hour journey was for nothing. The reason was that it was due to several members of the cast having covid. Which is reason enough to cancel the show. However, why only 20 minutes before we arrived (the lady on the door said) was this discovered. Shouldn’t the cast be being tested before they even get to the theatre? Surely they must have been tested before this and they hadn’t in fact only just found out ? Surely the cast would have know hours before the show was due to start before they were in full costume and makeup ? Disappointed is an understatement. And not only this but apparently the second show later on tonight is apparently still going on ? Surely if there has been people with covid in the theatre they shouldn’t be putting on the next show? I just think there could have been a much better way to handle this situation to ensure people were notified, a automated email perhaps or something would have been appreciated. Not happy at all really bad customer service on their part in my opinion.

The Lyceum is undeniably a beautiful theatre. I have been going for years and love the structure and feel of the building. However, the issue is you are only going to have a decent experience if you are sat in the stalls.
The circle seats are uncomfortable, with very limited legroom, and it can become arm and stuffy. I appreciate that old buildings can be difficult to renovate, but therefore it should be reflected in the ticket pricing.
The Liverpool Empire offers much more comfortable seats and at affordable price. The ethos of theatre should be that everyone can enjoy a show, without breaking the bank.

Lovely family trip to the annual panto.
Nice to see mask wearing was enforced by staff during this pandemic period.
Lovely authentic theatre with a great family show put on. Lots of interaction with the crew who were enthusiastic!
Refreshments are a bit pricey but to be expected at a theatre.
Looking for our next visit already.

The Lyceum theatre is a lovely old building with character features. Unfortunately the seating is too cramped and views restricted due to poor alignment. I went along with friends to the now that’s what I call a musical last week and we were seated in the stalls in the middle of a row. I was unable to see the majority of the show clearly especially when the actors were on the left. (Which they were for quite a large portion or the show.) There was an interruption and the show was stopped while something was going on above us. This was dealt with and the show continued. Overall I much prefer the seating in London theatres or the anlhambra and pay less to see established shows. The pricing is, in my opinion simple to high for what you get. Uncomfortable, poor views and packed in like sardines. Not a good night for £46.50

I’ve visited many times but it was my friends first visit. She thought it was a beautiful little theatre. We were able to enjoy drinks before the performance and during the interval. The performance was excellent and I am returning later this month to watch Titanic, the musical.

As part of my birthday celebrations, my wife, daughter, son in law and grandson went to see Everyone is talking about Jamie. Absolutely brilliant, a wonderful production and most enjoyable, loved it. The Lyceum is a great theatre. My family commented how lucky we are to have such good theatres in Sheffield-and they are right.

Having visited multiple theatres this was my first time at The Lyceum to see Chicago.
The staff in the theatre were very good at getting everyone to the seats and into the venue safely.
Preordered drinks which were ready to pick up at half time, had time also to nip to the toilets and grab some icecream during the interval, which was very well organised.
The theatre has beautiful architecture and a nostalgic feel. We sat in the circle, which had Limited leg room, although a fantastic view, which made up for the lack of legroom.
Chicago was amazing, well choreographed and the band were excellent.
Thank you for hosting such a great show!

You would only need to pay for a ticket for a child aged 2 years + children under this age can go free of charge and would sit on a parents knee
