Always Amazing

I have never had a bad experience at this theatre and I have been going for years. Great venues, excellent staff and they put on top class shows.

All Sheffield Theatres offer an amazing afternoon or evening out. Exceptional range of shows available throughout the year. We try to go every few months and combine it with a meal out at one if the restaurants close by

I love theatre - especially Shakespeare - and love watching a play on the main stage. All the seats enjoy a good view, although some on the corners have limited leg space. The layout makes for an intimate experience. The studio stage is also good - especially for music recitals. Also a pleasant and open bar area.

I go to the Crucible for either Snooker or plays, whatever, the atmosphere is brilliant, it is cosy enough, intimate and sociable, I love it. The bar area is adequate, the seating comfortable and all in all a great place. I have had a snack there, and it's not too badly priced for a theatre. Give it a go.

Both of the theatres are equally good in very different ways. The Crucible Theatre is unusual and a little quirky. The way the seats are, means that wherever you sit you can see. The Lyceum Theatre is more traditional. It is very comfortable with the most beautiful ceiling I have ever seen in a theatre. Both theatres are very well... More

Saw two recent performances here. The revamp a year or two ago has revitalised the pace - that dated carpet in the bar has gone. Seating... more legroom if you are at a place where the seating runs round a corner, or end of row. If your hearing is declining then avoid the back few rows as the sound gets... More

The Crucible is an amazing theatre. As its theatre in the round you see all the actors and the acoustics are first rate you can hear every word. It is an equal to any London stage and many of the plays go onto London stages. The staff are friendly and facilities great. It is good for disabled theatre goers too.

I love the crucible because the stage is surrounded by seats. As you seat around the stage, you feel part of the performance! I thought it was great!
