Academy Music Group was delighted to acquire a prime City Centre location and a landmark building. It opened on Friday 11th April 2008, with a sell-out gig from local heroes Reverend and The Makers and an after-party courtesy of Jarvis Cocker. The...more
Was at SciFi in the city as I had won VIP tickets, the venue was large with lots of bars, soundproofing was excellent in each room, the only downside was the prices of the bars two pints of sutherbies cider and that's a cheap cider...More
First time at this venue over the weekend, for the Hard Rock Hell Sleaze gigs.
Layout is superb, with good views and sound from pretty much anywhere you choose to stand.
There’s a bar at each end of the downstairs room, and even though the...More
Great venue for a concert. Intimate venue with good views. Balcony closed off for concert but this just added to the atmosphere.
Only downside for me is the bar prices and the bar provision. £5.25 for a pint of Guinness. Not enough bars for the...More

Good small venue, event over two stages, toilets not bad but drinks expensive. Good job we could come and go during event to get food and cheaper drinks. Free tap water was available. Bar staff and security friendly and helpful.
Will be heading here again...More

I liked this o2 academy, its quite big and has a couple of bars although you should avoid the bars unless you have just won the lottery that night because you pay £5 for a pint of piss-like cider, a very cheap brand not strongbow...More
Went to see Bowling for Soup this month and Scouting For Girls before Christmas last year. Intimate sized building, usually a bar somewhere with a small queue. Toilets were clean which is surprising for a music venue.
Can’t really fault it!
Being their hometown, we wanted to see WSS and enjoy the atmosphere. However, it wasn't as hyped as we'd hoped for.
The venue itself is good, you can generally see the stage from anywhere. If you want to stand on the balcony, get their early....More
