Yesterday we visited Site Gallery and saw an exhibition by a Taiwanese artist called Wu Chi-Tsung. It's the most beautiful and intriguing installation I have seen in many years, using technology and real dust (yes dust!) - the gallery is practically shimmering! I recently visited Site Gallery as part of the art festival in Sheffield running this winter, and it was awesome! Exhibitions were great, staff were very friendly, and the cafe was welcoming with tasteful food.

Even though I made good use of the darkrooms that they once had here, I've never been a great fan of the artwork that they have on display....mostly sound and video installations, as far as I can remember. However, I've managed to take a couple of good photographs........

If you ignore Spearmint Rhino opposite, Brown Street has some excellent attractions, and it's always worth checking out what's on at Site. The exhibitions are always fresh and interesting, and the gallery often commissions exhibitions from artists in residence that are fascinating to watch grow. The cafe is small but reasonably priced and with a choice of good lunch snacks,... More

Sorry to say that despite the hype: "presenting innovative, challenging and creative work" its amateurish artwork really lets it down. Specifically the "art" in the cafe was disjointed and (sorry) but a bit of a joke for a gallery. It was better suited in a nursery. Give this place a miss and head for a Gallery that knows what they're... More
