I've lived in Sheffield for a good 12yrs and the one place where it's nice to just sit and relax for a while is in The Peace Gardens. Well-kept lawns, calming water flowing from the huge urns, have a read, a bite to eat and a drink while you take a step away from the Hustle & Bustle of the... More

As the name suggests, lovely peaceful space in the heart of the city. Fountains, water features and places to sit and chill. Definitely worth taking a bit of time out to relax here.

Really nice little spot to sit down for a few minutes whilst the world goes by. The nearby fountains will keep the children entertained too.

Shabby and downmarket, dirty, full of empty bottles. Homeless people sleeping all over the place, generally depressing.

The Peace Garden is a nice place in winter even it is cold and is a great place in summer with all the coffee shops, restaurants and take away places around. It is great for a rest after shopping in Sheffield centre and The Moor markets

Being from Sheffield originally I remember the old peace gardens which we're very nice at the time. But the city has moved forward creating this showpiece in the early 2000 s.Am still blown away seeing the fantastic features of lighting, design & magnificent water falls & features like the beautiful stonework. It was a bustling day with festive Christmas attractions in log cabins,the... Not a large area but the water features are very interesting. Seating available and a good place to eat packed lunches. There are steps but these are very well lit at night.

Love walking through the Peace Gardens or sitting and watching the world go by. There is always something to see from the Christmas Market in Nov/Dec to the children having fun in the fountains in summer and the International Food Market which is amazing.

Unless you have a complete disregard for your clothing/already wearing green. Good place to soak in a good mix of scenery from the tall buildings to the fountains.

This used to be a social spot for me when I was younger but at my age now I appreciate it more just to sit and relax. Love the fountains too.
